knives out 1 and 3 are also the better mysteries—the twists and turns happen because the audience knows about what the protagonist and benoit know, but glass onion’s twist is on the audience and the narrative itself and feels a lot less satisfying.

i really enjoyed glass onion but this felt like a return to form, the solidifying of ‘protag is a genuinely kind person accused of murder and benoit shows up and does everything he can to support them’ is great and i think it does so much. makes me sad that helen/andi didn’t really get that
