Food Quality Beats Macronutrient Focus for Heart Health This Medical News article discusses new findings that carbohydrate and fat composition are not as important as diet quality for cardiovascular health.

Low-carb or low-fat? For heart health, it may not matter.

New research finds food quality is what really counts.

Best of luck in your approach to the world.

Hmm, that seems to be a set up for failure, i.e. Ghislaine Maxwell (she’s not a man from what I know). Everyone should have an equal amount of scrutiny.

I know what you are referring to. It just seemed like a man privately did something to you and now you are going scorched Earth on all males.

MTv might do well nowadays from a News/VJ focused shows point of view. There is so much music nowadays, I wouldn’t mind having a VJ direct me.

To some point it may be important to have something like MTv to support liberal causes. We may not have the world today if it weren’t for 90’s MTv.

I tried to negotiate the language which limited the indemnification. However, the organization refused on the basis that their other docs accept such. It makes me wonder if docs are actually reading their contracts or the majority think the juice is worth the squeeze.

Thanks Phil (I still need to shoot you a call from the JHU CT course!)

It’s not so much the review on my part. I received one contract that contained pretty heavy handed (for what I thought) indemnification for any little insult.

Physicians:

Do you all read your contracts pertaining to indemnity clauses (or any of the language in it)?

Agreed, poor choice to move away from pagers.

💥 The SCOT-HEART 2 trail could transform how we identify those at risk of heart attacks.

🔬 Trial randomizes asymptomatic patients ages 40-70 with ≥1 risk factors to either #CoronaryCTA or standard care, with appropriate therapies, looking for primary outcome of heart attack.

Robbed. In the mid 90s for me Jungle and DNB were interchangeable terms. I’ll admit that I would refer to reggae heavy sampled tracks as Jungle. But I still don’t see a significant distinction to not give points.

We urge DO students, residents, and physicians to reflect on their own well-being—and to check in on others. Together, we can help ensure physicians’ struggles don’t turn into mental health emergencies. #NPSADay

I wanted to briefly take a moment to remind everyone that @medsky.social is currently a one-person operation. I love building these feeds & helping create a community-centered space for HCWs on Bluesky. I'll gladly do it for free, but a small donation goes a long way towards keeping the lights on!

As a cardiologist, I've watched patients prioritize their business over their heart.

35-year-old. Diabetes. Heart attack. Still works 16 hours a day.
Won't walk for 10 minutes.

If a heart attack can't fix your priorities, what will?

Quite the feat of literature.

From all the hefpf patients I take care of in the hospital (and other things), I’ve been more vigilant about getting my body fat percentage closer to 10%, lol

It is safe to assume that days spent with us in the ICU are among the worst days in the lives of our patients and their families. Coping with the rollercoaster of emotions is no easy task, especially when there's no recovery. 🎩 tip to the authors.

#HFpEF appears to develop as a result of changes in the biology of a person’s internal fat tissue, according to the #Adipokine Hypothesis, a new way of understanding how fat may impact the heart.
