Like, yeah ok, in this day and age it seems to be somewhat of a competition in certain circles to prove that there can be a 'person so vile that their death would be a net positive for the world', but even then. It'd not be a good thing to let that be decided by just one random guy, right
make their own truths, of COURSE the media(/internet) would try to misuse its power when it becomes clear how easily it can manipulate Kira. How tf is a random guy supposed to understand what is truly "evil" or the cause of human suffering? How would anyone really know if someone "deserves to die"?

the curse of IT/dev stuff is that there's so much incomprehensible, extremely unintuitive stuff that's a headache to figure out, but then you have to do it so often that you just kind of get used to it.. and you forget how stupid it is once it's second nature
