New today from me: 2026 WNBA Training Camp Roster Breakdowns, Part Two.
Continuing from yesterday, going team-by-team looking at who's likely to make rosters, who might have to battle, which teams have cap space and all that fun stuff. #WNBA

Whoever the hell Kolb protected, and whoever's agent might've been telling Toronto/Portland that their client didn't want to play for them, Kane was still a bizarre choice. So much talent available from NY, and if you had to take someone only to trade them, that would've been fine too. #WNBA
We continue our team-by-team examinations of WNBA training camp rosters, detailing who's likely to stick around and who might be heading for the waiver wire.

There's more explanation of some of the rules in the intro to Part 1, but no, vet minimum isn't that high. Annie Costabile had more of the various minimums here: frontofficesports.com/how-much-wil...
New piece from me today: Explaining a few new rules and breaking down each team's camp roster, who fits under the cap, who's a lock, and who might be fighting for a roster spot. #WNBA

First day since we opened back up that there hasn't been a single official transaction. Do we blame @anniecostabile.bsky.social, y/n?
Heh, good point. I think my mind prefers to recall stuff from 15 years ago because it can make half of it up and pretend I remember it clearly :).
It's a nice place. Although my complete lack of Spanish has occasionally been an issue.
Was a very long time ago (I'm very old), but I remember when Sandrine Gruda and Asjha Jones were already in place at team that drafted Tina Charles. People said "Will Charles even start?!" Then Gruda/Jones both missed start of the season, Charles started, and never shifted. All yours, Awa Fam. #WNBA
My view if you manage to turn away from the food at this place.
Heh, thankyou. Good choices :).
I don't blame you, but these days it is at least just a mechanised feed from a league computer (with plenty of stuff filtered out). Means you're less at the whims of whether an intern manages to copy down everything they're supposed to.
Okay, so in some ways just another sliced up steak with fancy bits. But oh my god. In other ways, new favourite.
I check both, because you have to stay abreast of what the official source is saying, but as I've said many times, if you want more comprehensive, more accurate, more thoughtful, more organised WNBA transactions information, you go here ๐. #WNBA
Something I read said League Pass was going to be free in preseason as a preview, so presumably yes. At least some of them.
I mean, the league's official website and official transactions page is still 'reporting' developmental signings by putting 'None' up as a transaction. No sign of fixing those, and I think we've got five now. That's a reflection of where we are.
Just to be clear, there is *still* some stuff being hashed out and smallprint being finished for WNBA rules & regulations. So teams are working within guidance they have, and I'm passing along what I have (as are many other people who cover the W). But finer details in particular could change. #WNBA

I tried to switch the phone off speaker and just hung up on somebody instead. Which isn't quite as bad, but it's close.
Congrats Annie. Kinda figured that's where you were heading. Don't forget to leave the occasional morsel in front of the paywall for the little people ;).
We explain some new rule tweaks and then go team-by-team, looking at who's a lock to make the WNBA rosters for opening day, and who has a fight on their hands

Well that was part of what I meant with the splitting. If they both wanted to sign for 360k ish, then they both fit.
That leaves a little bit of room beyond filling the roster out with minimum salaries. Could give Johannes something in the 460k range, or something in the 370k range if she was splitting their remaining space with someone else. #WNBA
Can confirm via source that Jonquel Jones re-signed with New York Liberty for three-years, protected, $1,190,000/$1,249,500/$1,309,000.
Regular max, 5% raises, not the floating version Stewart/Ionescu signed. @madkenney.bsky.social first on deal, @alexaphilippou.bsky.social first w/ details. #WNBA
If you're not already, you should be following @valhalla.basketball and reading stuff like this valhalla.basketball/blog/2026/04... that he puts out.
They're a zero salary cap hit. They don't count on the cap.
Among the additional information I've gotten recently that's somewhat relevant here: You're not *required* to fill those two development spots. Entirely optional. #WNBA
Barring a significant change of approach they won't do it - considering we're still waiting on Taylor, among others - but when it's all said and done, Emma Meesseman's gonna have a hell of a case for the Naismith.
Okay, they gave Allemand the MVP anyway. Meesseman's probably had to build a spare house for all her trophies by now, anyway. #EuroLeagueWomen
