Wow, I just had a nostalgia trip looking at those Neocities featured sites. That's a great idea, especially if it matches your aesthetic and you don't plan to run another blog. I do miss fun websites like those—truly unique spaces! 😀
Writerly folk: what are your thoughts on author websites—whether a simple portfolio to showcase your books or an active blog with many posts? Do you have one or not? Do you want one or not? Are they pointless or worthwhile?
(Partly asking as someone who's built websites professionally.)

After a brief hiatus from Substack, I’m back with a review of Haruki Murakami’s Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki…(and the rest). Note: this is a review of the book, not the novel.

(Updated graphic). More to come. Though I should really be working on less silly things.
You’re off to a great start, Drew!
Amen.
🤣
. . . and griddled asparagus, with a little lemon squeezed over. Is there anything better?
Haha, I think you've been to the wrong barbecues. Here me out: a small gathering, 4-6 max; a space with both sun and shaded spots; preplanned (and ideally pre-marinated) ingredients; good music; iced drinks; a temperature probe.

Happy Sunday! ICYMI, I began a new blog series (hopefully, it'll continue) on my Substack a few days ago. Written in the second person, it's a little unusual. This first entry concerns a camping trip to Aberystwyth, where I traipsed around bookstores, bought some books, and didn't get much sleep.
Mixed a batch of pizza dough this morning. Sourdough, for extra flavs. Firing up the Ooni later. First time this year.
Thank you! I’m just waiting for it to cool down - always the hardest part of baking.

You wouldn’t dare! 😂
Yes! I'm planning to dive into his season's books eventually. I have Autumn. 'Tis a pretty hardcover. If I try the Morning Star series, I'll probably go for the eBooks—not sure if my shelves can handle the weight 😂
The first three Karl Ove Knausgaard 'My Struggle' books are on the shelf.
Knausgaard is an oddity. He is somehow capable of writing about his life unsparingly in the way most writers transpose and collage various aspects of themselves across multiple characters. Three down, three to go.
Happy Birthday, Rob!
Spoiler alert, I enjoyed the book.
And just like that . . . serenity.
Add muted words and tags - Bluesky settings.
Nevermind, I've found it in settings - moderation - muted words and tags. Fantastic!
Does anyone know of a setting on Bluesky to hide posts containing certain keywords?
