The frog tries to squirm his legs out of Emperors grip but his foot is pinned down by a second claw, he stretches out his hand in an atempt to block Emperor as it leans down with its mouthparts flared open. Emperors four legs and two arms are long and slender and have hairs that flare at the ends near the clawed hands. It has long antennae, mantis-like mouthparts and big blank eyes.

A sketch reference sheet of Emperor, Quilbug's bug-monster persona. The creature is a mix of multiple insects. Is has the fuzz and green, red and yellow colouration of a pellucid hawkmoth. Its posture, mouth parts and the way its wings fold over its abdomen is that of a mantis, but the wings are transparent like a crickets. All its hands and feet are the same, with fuzzy 'palms' like a tarantula where four prehensile claws jut out of.
