when talking about autistic traits, by then it's the idea of "we don't see anything about her that makes us believe she's autistic." And that is something we as a whole culture are going to have to change. Girls should equally be believed in the first place, when getting assessed and diagnosed. 🎀

So Autistic girls are just as important as Autistic boys because when we're making awareness of autism, we're talking about traits that often go apparent and recognized by the general public. So by then, we're talking about autistic boys. But when we try to make awareness of autistic girls (1/2)...

I'm an autistic woman who was once a little autistic girl. I have noticed that all of my guy friends and loved ones are WAY more believed that they're Autistic, while I'm trying to over explain myself why I am Autistic, because I'm not believed..☹️
