not sure who's great idea it was to develop windows 11 core-apps using WebView2 of all things

let that sink in, WebView (and Electron) are just web wrappers disguised as a "native app"

but still, this is a step in the right direction

this particular build was given to me back when everyone was going ham over the leaked 21996 build in 2021, i forgot I had this VM made till I found out recently xd

one thing that stands out is the time and date layout being different compared to build 21996

so the folks working on Windows will soon bring back a feature that's been the norm since Windows 95, the ability to reposition your taskbar.

..despite early builds of Windows 11 allowed you to do that via the registry. (though putting it to the side on this build, crashes explorer.)

A screenshot of two error windows.

A screenshot of two error windows.

explorer crashed and your error debugger spring into life to debug explorer.exe. seconds later, the error debugger crashed and now you have an error debugger, debugging an error debugger that was debugging explorer.exe, because the error debugger crashed while debugging explorer.exe that crashed.

Ah, that's a gem.

Apparently running disk defrag on Millennium tends to be very buggy at times.

this issue was patched at the cost of doing some system modifications, who would've thought!

So Windows Me is 25 years old today huh?

Too bad I haven't experienced Millennium Edition myself (as my first OS I used was 2000 and moved to XP years later), this should be a great excuse to finally work on a Windows Me related video instead of it sitting on the backburner for months.

Call of Dutyโ€™s PC anti-cheat will require Secure Boot on Windows Activision is beginning to add support for the features in a โ€œphased rollout.โ€

So, you're saying my perfectly good computer that doesn't support Secure Boot/TPM is considered obsolete, just because they wants to thwart cheaters with such requirements, as if kernel-level AC isn't enough?

Talk about planned obsolescence, eh?
