“Oxymoron”

The word “oxymoron” comes from a combination of the Ancient Greek words ὀξύς (oxús, “sharp, keen, pointed”) + μωρός (mōrós, “dull, stupid, foolish”). So, it means sharp/dull; keen/stupid.

Thus, oxymoron itself is an oxymoron. :-]

It’s a hard time of year for many. A joyous time for many, too. May you all get to the other side of this holiday season peacefully and with at least one positive thing happening to you.

By its nature, online culture has, it seems, exacerbated the walls that separate us, created more distance, more perceived anonymity. It’s sad and ugly, and I don’t know what the solution is.

Ever get this feeling like all the effort you put in, everything you do creatively and to make things that matter, none of it actually matters? Like no one sees you, no one is paying attention, no one cares. Like you could stop trying to create stuff and no one would even notice.

I swear we are living in the twilight zone. Imagine it being 1945 and you open up the newspaper and read this headline.

Saw the doctor yesterday. She told me there is a problem with my head, and the most clear-cut solution would be to simply remove it. Arrangements have been made for the surgeon to give me a call in the next couple of weeks.
