Gothenburg’s Homegrown return with a self-titled LP that ditches vocals for pure instrumental chemistry. It’s a fuzz-drenched, folk-infused journey through the cosmos... or a blacklight room... think heavy psych with a medieval Nordic twist. Bongs, Babes, and Navy Blue Blankets required. #metal

After a decade, stoner/desert rockers Palm Desert return with Rays of the Gold and Grays, showcasing stellar vocals and thick, fuzzy, unrelenting riffs that create a massive wall of sound. It's a drive out into the desert that will make your uber drive ask, "Are you sure?" #metal
some solid heavy- stoner- metal- swagger here. #metal
I've gotten caught up in the weird world of Exotica - not really jazz, not really world music, not really soundtrack music - not really pop music - of the '50s and '60s. At first, it was weird and cringe, but now it's my background music for mundane tasks. It did screw up my Apple Music algorithm...
What's cool about metal? This past year, at least 600 albums of good to excellent quality were released. Probably more... just sayin'... #metal
That really exhausted feeling after the holidays, where you have a lot to catch up on, but all you can do is rest and zone out, waiting for your actual week away, starting next weekend, where you're only going to rest and zone out... #holidaysinamerica
Female fronted by Ginevra De Giusti, and sure to replace Ghost in your mythology, Sumerian Tragedy captures that vintage 70s horror vibe but grounds it in a solid Heavy Metal framework. Ginevra’s voice is spellbinding—less "Papa Emeritus," more "High Priestess." #metal
One of the better albums this year. Channels late‑70s heavy blues‑rock: warm, fuzzed riffs, wah‑soaked leads, and cavernous doom vocals—retro groove and smoky swagger dragged through a thunderstorm. #metal
Start with Apostrophe, but then my brain wants to push out: but just so you know these bootleg live versions are far superior… and then we’re going down that rabbit hole…
More power to Metallica and all, but I don’t feel like 20 year old James and Cliff would ever want to be in a nostalgia dad band like that.
Yep, Zappa is a tough one. It’s so much to unpack and the casual listener has no vocabulary to talk about it. Like what album would you even give them as an “in?”
Since like season 3 for me. If they were boiled down to a 2 hour movie, they’d be great.
habby birfday dear Lars. now go have a lie down.
It's not prog - or at least Frank would hate to think his work was being labeled as prog, at least by modern neo-prog standards. For prog fans, though, there is a lot to dig into with Frank and his many, many iterations.
Floating is right up there - I would want to toss Fleshvessel some love as well.
handgemeng for the win! great stuff. hooded menace i haven't seemed to return to.
Now Playing. It's so good! #ripplemusic #metal #satanicpanicattack #handgemeng
because the mainstream doesn't want to have to consider what they are listening to at any time, especially if it's loud and chaotic. The mainstream is a very narrow stream these days, often filled with stadium country, Ariana Grande, and inspirational ballads.
Very Punk Rock for Neon.
Bringing the cinema of post-, this delivers a sweeping atmospheric journey on "Fragments Of Dawn." It’s a lush fusion of melo-doom and black-, offering vast, immersive soundscapes. The instrumental depth is undeniable, yet the vocals are less than convincing (quibble). #metal
trying to power through to the end of the first season of Mr. Mercedes. solid writing/performances, but my writing instructor is all in me brain asking, would it be better without following the villain so close? did it start in the right place? why is a side character getting a back door pilot?
When I think of Ozzy, I think of this album.
this one was definitely a surprise.
Sunrise on the Canaveral National Seashore. Christmas lights on the coast...
Holy crap! This is a dissonant nightmare of the highest order. It’s a psychedelic, suffocating, and brutal black- that sounds like the void screaming back. Interesting textures and layers. Tracks like "Sköpunin" and "Dauðinn" are absolute chaos, but in a good way. #metal
Astonishing! This is a kaleidoscopic blending of black-, death-, prog- (but not in that yucky Dream Theater way), with flute, viola, multiple vocal styles, and jarring jazz fusion. It’s a schizoid, surreal journey that kinda demands total immersion. Good stuff! #metal
It's the Toni Iommi epiphone model SG... and it's a beast. Love it. Nabbed it from Total Entertainment in Daytona Beach. Good guys. #metal #guitar #TotalEntertainment
A solid release, only marred by the now-ancient, creaky production. A remix would do this album well!
