The Land of Eem creators also have a middle grade book series for ages 8-12 set in the Land of Eem world called Dungeoneer Adventures and a graphic novel series for 12+ called Rickity Stitch and the Gelatinous Goo. So super easy to help get younger kids invested in the world.

I’m running Land of Eem using the Muckland sandbox with my kid. The sandbox is great because I can run it with very little prep. The system also encourages non-violent solutions to conflicts. There’s also a lot of sub-systems you can ignore if you want to streamline a bit for kids.
Awesome! I’ll look into signing up over on Patreon!
Oh wow these are great! I’ve been running Daggerheart for my kids and have been looking for something like this! Do you have option to be charged yearly on Patreon?
One of the things that keeps me calm is that if we resist Trump simply does not have the troop numbers to occupy the entire United States. There are formulas used to calculate this stuff and the math doesn’t math.
It’s something your players are supposed to help with in Session 0!
The list is just a suggestion and don’t need to be used and you can leave blanks. This helps them tell you things that might be important to their character so it can be used later. This is covered in pg 168 of core rule book.
If the GM takes the spotlight when one of those things happen then the GM would only need to spend one fear instead of two.
The GM moves don’t require the GM to spend a Fear to get the SL. However, the GM can spend a Fear to seize the SL even when none of those things happen.
So if a player succeeded with Hope, you could seize the SL by spending a Fear and you would need to spend another fear to use the fear feature.
I think that lever is Fate rolls. If too much hope and fear is being generated then ask yourself if some of those rolls could have been fate rolls or even just hand waived away as something the PC could do. Players should be making action/trait rolls when there is a good narrative consequence.
This seems unnecessary. It’s also going to affect game balance. Plus Daggerheart already has two ways to roll dice without generating hope and fear. Reaction rolls don’t generate hope/fear and then there are Fate rolls which let you roll either hope or fear dice to determine outcomes.
I work in IT and I mostly can’t stand AI. Its responses aren’t great most of the time and often steers inexperienced people in the wrong direction.
It seems the only thing it has accomplished is making search results worse due to all the AI slop.
So I end up just reading the documentation…*sigh*
Some issues could be addressed with changes to battle mechanics. Like what if the “slow” ailment on enemies made the timing for dodge easier. Or maybe stats help with a dodge or parry.
The challenge is that the game expects you to get hit. But if you suck the lack of progression is frustrating.
All entirely predictable and avoidable. I sincerely hope people who find this surprising do some serious reflection on where they are getting their news and information.
Je’RPG fans if you will
It also says “Combo” if there are multiple incoming attacks.
It’s disappointing that so many of the people that helped me leave Christianity through their writings and videos turned out to be such shitty people.
That said, I did also watch a lot of your content @skepchick.org in those days. So thanks for still being awesome!
I mostly have mine because it’s the last social media site where I use my real name. And employers seemingly think it’s weird to have zero social media presence. It’s gone the moment I retire lol.
It’s on my shelf right now and I will most likely get to it in the next month or two! I’m looking forward to it!
OK, I'm bringing out the big guns to test Bluesky engagement😀
Repost & follow to be in the draw!
