There are maybe 5 articles in today’s Graun asking how Starmer got it so wrong without a single reference to the wider Labour Together festival of fuckery. Remarkable: the sensibles are searching for smaller and smaller piles of sand in which to bury their heads.

I can’t get that bothered by it. It’s the least significant remaining game of the season. Draw would be nice, but a loss is no big deal.
😂 I remember seeing the kerfuffle with stewards from the other end
It would appear that Leeds were on the east side of Wembley for Villa, Donny and Southampton.
On Sunday we are west side.
Just saying.

Exactly this
Ultimately, the idea of being a kid is that it’s where you learn how to be an adult. Idiotic performative bans are regressive. Let kids have phones; teach them about the dangers of social media and when it isn’t appropriate to use their phones. If necessary, punish misuse.
Mixed feelings on Starmer.
Obviously he’s a vile twat, but I’m enjoying watching him stamp the Labour Party to death as if it was a burning bag of dogshit on his doorstep.
Got it from random googling. The Leeds end and an ‘exclusive’ taproom, no less
I mentally prepared myself to dip into the depraved world of hospitality resellers to the tune of maybe £250? Turns out I should have been thinking £650. Ouch.
Also, no.
Until it takes an emergency shit in a gutter in front of horrified onlookers, it’s nowt special
I’m sitting in our south facing sun trap back yard in Sussex, 15deg but feels like 25. And thinking that we’ve sold our house and will be living in W Yorks by July, and thinking hmmm
Jesus. The kid will have to keep an eye out for Marines it’s whole life
I mean, that rooster does look aggressive. Maybe it should have taken its hat off?
The tail end of the internal combustion engine industry will be messy, and hard to predict.
There will come a time when there are still plenty of ICE vehicles on the road, yet not enough to keep anything like the current number of petrol stations in business.
What happens then?
@tommy-lufc.bsky.social how’s the sky looking, Chicken Little?
I regret to inform you that I have, once again, been visiting the naughty shops
In the early 80s when I was late teens and tube tickets were funny cardboard things bought for pennies, I was pretty law abiding on the whole. But I jumped barriers because it would have been socially awkward to do otherwise. These things come and go.
@gazurtoids.bsky.social forum’s on a mega slowdown again, presumably bot driven. Be grateful if you get the chance to have a look sometime.
still just stunned at how badly this all went for Trump
* started completely unnecessary war by murdering a bunch of little girls
* cemented hardline IRGC control of Iran and gave them the strait of hormuz
* turbofucked the global energy market
* accomplished literally none of his supposed goals
In this evening’s episode of cooking with the Karma Chef, the lesson is to avoid congratulating yourself for an awesome dal and immediately conspiring to get fresh chilli up your nose
Who’s to doom, when the judge himself is dragged to the bar?
Not what I said. The equivalent would be using a wheelchair when you can just as easily walk.
Should the US actually use nukes against Iran in the next few days, there is every possibility that they will use a plane based at Fairford. Absolutely fuck this shit.
Where’s Father Ted when you need him?
Well, aye. Most technological leaps forward have usefulness, just not the changes-everything all encompassing usefulness that their originators always claim.
Limiting in the sense that the betterness of your life is contingent on access to a smartphone which may, for some reason, no longer be available to you at some point.
I don’t hate social media. But I think ‘better’ as an absolute term is pretty useless. And if the betterness of your life is contingent on a battery powered tech object you had to buy in order for your life to be better, that’s somewhat limiting.
I guess you could always use your smart phone to read up on whether ‘better’ and ‘more convenient’ are equivalent ontological concepts?
Better is undefinable here. More convenient on occasion? Possibly. But I don’t know how you begin to get to the root of ‘better’. I was broadly happy, in the moment, thirty years ago and I’m broadly happy now. That’s about it.
There’s a fella hopping round our estate in a white bunny onesie and most of the kids look mortified
