Not a bad move. Now trying to head inbound again but a train got stuck at Irving Park with another mechanical problem and it’s been like 20 minutes since the last train, so I gave up and took a bus this time. Seems like things are moving again now but they still haven’t sent a train out of Kimball.
Don’t anthropomorphize these things. They can’t be sorry and the people operating them definitely aren’t.
48 minute delay on a packed train when the Brown Line was already running 15 minute headways during rush hour. Resulted in a 1 hour gap for the stations on the Ravenswood branch. The problem train did go out of service at Southport and everyone had to get off. Another Kimball yard success story!
Brown Line run 430 broke down at Fullerton and was able to get moving again after 18 minutes, but then broke down again on the Belmont flyover and was stuck for another 30 minutes. A supervisor had to come out and run the train to Southport from the 5th car since the first two pairs were inoperable.
