Why would you lay this curse on me

I also don't have any judgement for this, aside from being like "hey maybe this isn't a good thing..." broadly. I don't think you're alone in where you're at, nor am I or so many others. It took basically re-doing my telegram to even begin to notice the pattern
It's a practice thing, and it's not so much being a problem per se? Just like... one on one is a learned skill for sure. The big things are bonding over common interests, and actively asking people about themselves. Sometimes things fizzle, sometimes not. I am kinda having to re-learn myself!
And I'm sure many other people are like "welcome to the party finally, now you get it dummy" but you know, there it is lol.
The reason I'm posting this now is I hadn't been able to put this pressure to words till yesterday. But I've felt it for a long time now too.
It does actually, and unintentionally, instill a shallow level of socialization in any community. I've seen it happen. I've been a part of it without realizing it. This isn't criticism for anyone. It's more me going: guys, we have a problem. And we're leaving people by the wayside.
I'm not saying you can't form real connections and bonds with people through larger chats and scroll media, but they take up so much space, and so much social energy, that they've made low-cost interaction dominant, which then degrades how we naturally interact in every other way.
This comes in part from a conversation I had with a friend I haven't talked to in years, because I thought they kinda just disappeared. As it turns out, they're very much still around, they just don't do big chats anymore. The pressure to be visible is just too much for a lot of people.
Interpersonal connection requires one on one interaction. I had a lot of really good conversations this weekend. I'm trying to DM people more. I feel group chats may not be entirely harmless, because it is too safe, too low cost, and people forget how to actually have a conversation, or never learn.
There is a real issue with chats and social media as a parasocial space. I've seen and talked to people without the energy or desire to keep up with large chats. People don't DM them, or talk to them. They get forgotten. For all it's benefits, social media can be extremely anti-social.

Or some shit like that. Having lots of internal discussions with myself about how to actualize this. And researching deeper into possible GAC/GAHT.

Digital painting of the Orion Spacecraft from the Artemis II mission looping around the moon, painted to look like a 1960s illustration.
I'm a bit late, but I wanted to do art for the Artemis II mission.
It was such a spot of excitement and hope in an otherwise dreary news cycle and seeing the crew's joy during the mission was wonderful. It truly felt like an endeavor for all of us, rather than a billionaire's pet project.

This storm was on our heels for a while. Beautiful, and full of hail. Trying to tornado.
First day experiencing a chase in Oklahoma, after 8 years of chasing the high plains near and around CO.

Storm Chasing is a mutual thing. Except you can't kick a storm's ass. They will hand yours to you though.
Oklahoma was medium spicy today
