I like your lyric better!
I am breathing water / I am walking concrete
(I didn’t write that lyric; thanks for listening)
Took a walk with ANALOG TARA and learned so much about the teachings of Pauline Oliveros, the boundaries between rhythm and noise, the long path of electronic musicking and more
Tara’s fabulous new recording, Life of the Mother, is out today

Honored by the laughs-tears-joys-fears that cellist JANEL LEPPIN shared in this interview which felt as broad as her music

Ok, thanks. The “would you stay?” phrasing in your posts made me feel like you were putting the onus on the journalists. They’re certainly listening to this discourse more closely than management, and I’m feeling hyper protective of everyone who has chosen to stay and fight. Thanks for your reply
I understand we’re all grieving the Post in different ways but are you saying it should be easy for everyone to quit? We all know there aren’t 799 “attractive job offers from excellent outlets” out there. Let’s not shame our colleagues for staying and trying to save this thing
Sorry to tack a PSA/plea to the universe onto this blurt, but after serving as The Washington Post’s pop music critic for more than 16 years, I’m continuing my work here:

Glad this story is being told but I’m extremely disappointed that it fails to mention that The Washington Post has laid off nearly all of its arts critics
A decades-deep legacy of arts coverage has been destroyed here and it hurts our city and our world
