It's such a tall ask but I really need to get my shit up to a better place by end of month or else I won't be able to renew my lease, and with my credit just above 500 now after the last 2 years I will have zero chance of renting again. I really need a miracle here.
The movie is one of the wildest pieces of media I've ever come across. When I was a post-HS stoner kid, we'd play that and Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' after hours at the Blockbuster I worked at, pretty much exclusively.
I would also classify it as "good if it was good." But Tina Turner slapped in it.

Horrific news. The defendants — including two trans women — are political prisoners persecuted for opposing the atrocities of a fascist regime.
But the Haymarket trial didn't kill anarchism or unions. Rigged, corrupt courts are an old weapon in the hands of tyrants. People always fight on anyway.
I think attaching yourself to the prosthetic brain that just regurgitates centuries of what humanity has already done is severely underselling the power of your brain, and your brain will atrophy as a result of that connection.
Exercising your imagination is fun and healthy but it's still exercise
I think it's important to reconnect with unstructured play, to let your brain imagine and interpret ideas and concepts that it comes up with. And for no other reason than just to do it.
There's stories hidden in your brain and they're like a sculpture hidden in a marble slab. Finding em is joyful.
I'm gonna have a little hot take today, as a treat: I think you're actively hurting yourself if you use LLMs/generative AI when you play solo RPGs. I think you're literally damaging the part of your brain that does things like imagine, solve problems, and make connections. I think it is bad for you.
We have a verdict and we are heartbroken at the results.
This is only the beginning. We will continue to fight the remaining charges until every defendant is home.
I would hazard Paul Stamets is kind of the root cause. Mycelium Running was a /wild/ book, and it's entirely non-fiction. Talked about cordyceps before TLOU was a thing, talked about mushrooms being able to digest VX nerve gas and petroleum hydrocarbons, talked about using mushrooms as a pesticide.
mom and pop operated NAS shop. everyone in town knows john and marla, they run the last local cloud storage business. fifteen fifty a month gets you an honest 24 terabytes. pretty good deal and marla keeps a bottle of tanqueray behind server rack 44 if you happen by
If any of y'all can use my skills in programming or design and have some dignified work opportunities to offer me please hit me up
I learned to interview for journalism reasons, and I find about 90% of podcast interviews unlistenable because the hosts cannot help themselves from trying to be the center of attention and cutting off the interviewee. Like...my guy, that is the most important thing you /don't/ do.
I genuinely do not understand why podcasts have video now like that seems contrary to the point of podcasts?
Hey so Loot The Room is going to disappear off the internet if I can't come up with about £250 in the next few days.
If you've ever thought about picking up any of my games now would be an excellent time to do that.

DFW is such a weird place to live because people are /intently/ proud of it, and like 90% of it looks like this.
It's just a weird civic pride for a place that's mostly highways, stroads, retail shopping, chain restaurants, and office buildings.
Thank you! I should have thought of YouTube!
There's a book that went locally viral during 2020 called The Accommodation by Jim Schutze, and it's dumbfounding to read how many historic and upscale parts of Dallas were created as an excuse to displace black people.

I wanna start bullet journaling again so I went to the bullet journaling website to refresh myself and found out they do not have instructions on how to bullet journal anymore but you can pay $300 a year to take a bullet journal class and talk to bullet journal experts.
I think Wyrd Sisters and Guards! Guards! are strong contenders for favorites so far. There's a bit of everything in here, but when Pratchett does a specific kind of satire/social commentary, he knocks it out of the park.
I am officially 10 books into Discworld and I'm sad I didn't start sooner.
I'm listening to the audiobooks, and it took me until about 8 books in to realize that the narrator was Neil from The Young Ones and not just a guy with a great Neil impression.
i'm still learning but...is this yuri?
Some Disco portraits finished! I have slots available <3

I regret to inform you that after 14 years of using the site, I finally became a casualty of the Reddit Moderator Powertrip (tm).
Also: I don't think 'The US existing as it exists today' is a good thing. I think you have to be wearing blinders to think that it is, and to think that we can see any meaningful change or a meaningful future without dismantling things and rebuilding them.
I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that a series of Nuremberg-style trials is about the only way the US is ever going to continue to exist as it exists today.
However, the flip side of this is that the Nazis did not show up to the Nuremberg trials in response to a subpoena.
Have been binge-watching Very Important People and this episode has to be one of the funniest I've watched yet. Izzy Roland is one of the most effortlessly funny people I've ever seen.

if someone online asks a question in a public forum and your response is to report back what an LLM crapped out for you i am *very* comfortable calling you stupid
