This was different! As a play a little sluggish & sparse. On the other hand great performances and kept my attention. but was was more shocking was how empty the theater was! I felt badly for the actors!

Quatermass & The Pitt; a story about a single minded British scientist joins a Pittsburg ER & teaches the team to stop being so emotional & focus on the science.
Currently on HBO Max
Oh - this is the best sci- fi since Babylon 5
It’s astonishing these still crop up! I remember Tomb of the Cybermen returning to us.
Do I know anyone who would want a region 1 dvd? Ordered by accident. Free to a good home
David Tennent was in a live version of Quatermass & was called Doctor just as he got the role.

A blonde woman in an ornate black dress raises a dagger above her head outdoors, her expression determined as sunlight filters through the trees behind her.
A sepia-toned still from a vintage horror film showing a man's disembodied head with wide, startled eyes, patterned wallpaper in the background.
Two men in Victorian style clothing stand close together in dramatic red lighting. One older man with white hair and a moustache looks alarmed while a younger man with slicked back hair stares intensely ahead.
A stern looking man with slicked back grey hair and sideburns holds a a skull while wearing a black glove and dark Victorian suit. Red lighting and laboratory equipment glow in the background.

Seconded
With all the renewed interest in 1953's Stolen Face thanks to the re-release on Hammer's own 4K disc set, recorded a few years ago, here's a chance to revisit Ben's musings on the subject and its wider cinematic outings from the sublime to the not so much...

I was with an American aunt last month. She was also apologising….
I had to reassure her that it wasn’t her country we hated- but we feared we could turn the same.
@generalwitch.bsky.social behold! The General Witchfinders bingo card. Fun for all the family (well maybe not Ross’s family).
Kip Williams Dracula is a wonderful staging of the classic story- no doubt but there is a lot to unpack! is it a film? A play? Or an audiobook? It put me very much in mind of Sir Christopher Lees reading of Jekyll & Hyde. If you enjoyed Dracula (and you should!) seek that out!
Ah: I can’t see it being the sort of film to win Oscars. Not that it isn’t great; but Oscar winners tend to be films…. That Arnt realy appealing to me (?) I dout Frankenstein will win anything this year.
It’s a great film
For those who know!
What I am up to
Trump has lost his mind. His speeches are insane, misspelled ravings about the 2020 election, filled with bad grammar and shotgun caps. If this guy were a mayor in Anytown, USA, he would be told politely but firmly to surrender the gavel and get medical help.
I have this exact thought a couple of times a day.
Moffat’s era was wonderful.
@labourshercule.bsky.social any thoughts on Seven Dails on Netflix?
Now the stranger things has finished: can we admit it was an update of Quatermass?
Thoughts and thank you.
Great episode. Thanks gents.
Not with three he can’t!
