Soon we will publish a study on agricultural productivity that crunches the numbers with analysis and policy recommendations. In the meantime, I invite you to use the new database.
Thanks to Lina Salazar and her team for the great work putting together this database.

Disaggregated data on inputs (land, labor, machinery, and fertilizers from @fao.org and USDA) complements the other variables. All information is integrated into a platform with replicable methodologies, comparable data, and ready for analysis.
It also includes the new Sustainable Productivity Index, developed by @ifpri.org and the IDB, which analyzes productivity from an environmental sustainability perspective by considering unwanted outputs from the agricultural process.
The new data helps monitor the evolution of agricultural productivity, assess efficiency in input use, and inform strategic decisions in the agricultural sector. It includes 3 TFP indices — Hicks-Moorsteen, Fare-Primont, and Lowe.
The IDB just launched a detailed and comprehensive data base on agriculture productivity in LAC. The data brings together annual statistics on agricultural productivity and input use, with comparability between 25 countries in LAC across 1961–2021.
