I wonder, what if all politicians were subjected to yearly performance reviews? Every year we vote and if they don't get a "passing score" it triggers a new election to replace them. Combine this with term changes & limits.

House - 2 4-year terms, Senate - 2 8-year terms. SCOTUS - one 10-year term.
