Uh oh. I better see if there's time to catch my mailman.

He is good when he is just calling the game. But he definitely plays to the level of his partner. Dirks and Benetti together are a clown show. But I'm old. I watch old Kell/Kaline-called games on YouTube and wish for those days to return. Dickerson and Petry are really good, though.
I have a bad feeling he is gone, never to return.
Interesting. Was just curious how you do it. I only have 2 graded cards, everything else is raw. I want to get a graded 54 Kaline just to be able to sleep at night knowing it's real. First started getting Al Kaline cards in the 80s, so definitely a slow play for me!
@brewing.bsky.social Since you have a player collection of Al Kaline and also have team sets dating back forever, do you end up getting multiples of Al (and others you collect) so you can keep the player collections and team sets separate? I never know how to handle that. Appreciate you, friend!
Doesn't look like the charger is plugged in. Battery is probably low.
Seems to be a theme across Detroit's teams.
Holy smokes! That is amazing! You're on a whole other level from me, that's for sure. I'm a low-budget collector so my stuff isn't anywhere close to as nice as yours. His '54 Topps card is my dream card.
That is so cool. I have a few of the older cards, but definitely want to start getting the older stuff. I like those cards so much. Right now I'm trying to complete the run of Al Kaline's playing-years run of Topps cards.
Awesome!
He never would have been the same player had he not gone to Atlanta. He probably needed to get out of the Tigers organization. Breath of fresh air for him with the coaching staff he needed, plus obviously his career coincided w/ Braves dominant run vs terrible era for Tigers.
Yep. No question about it. But, we should also bring up the opposite. Dave Dombrowski was all about trading prospects for proven players, and it almost paid off. Of course, we stunk for years afterward because of it. So there's that, too. 😀
Oh.
Man, Doyle Alexander was an amazing pickup for the Tigers in late 1987. Went 9-0, 1.53 ERA after being acquired for some struggling minor league pitcher who probably never amounted to anything. Doyle led the Tigers to an AL East crown that year. Wonder what happened to that other guy. #CardSky
This is awesome. Rooting for you! I'm trying to get all of Al Kaline's playing days cards, but the Venezuelans are out of my league. I'll live vicariously through you!
I love this 1974 Topps card of Juan Marichal. "The Dominican Dandy" retired when I was 2 years old, so I never got to see him pitch. But if I was old enough, I bet all my friends and I would've imitated his style. Awesome photo. What are your thoughts on this card? Any Marichal memories? #CardSky
I was just about to post this same video! It appeared on my timeline and I was flabbergasted by it. So good! I'm not sure if I've seen any of his video before, but I'm glad this popped up today. Exactly what I've been looking for. I encourage others to watch. I happily subscribed to his channel.
This is a fun card. 1994 Topps Ryne Sandberg. This was in that box of cards my sister-in-law gave me years ago that I just finally went through. #CardSky #Cubs
This is one of my favorite cards! Great choice.
Had a great time in Lakeland watching my Tigers take on the Phillies today. Kevin McGonigle hit an absolute missile in the first inning. #Tigers
I don't think I've ever seen that Foster. That is so great!
That's way more fun than just buying everything at once. (Not that laying out all that cash at once is easy to do...even though I see some people on YouTube who drop crazy coin on cards). Your way seems way more fun.
Those are great. Love that you're putting the '65 set together. That's always been one of my favorites.
I have the same issue here in Orlando. There's a show every other month I used to go to a lot. Stopped going because it's the same dealers with the same cards...and very little vintage. I might give it another shot this weekend, since it's been almost a year since my last visit.
About as random as you get from me.
Never even dawned on me that you might NOT have it. I figure any card of a player bunting that I might happen to have, you already have. You are the king of bunt wax!
Agreed. I've enjoyed watching him. I've told my several times the past few weeks that Christian seems like a different person now than he was the first time he played. Always seemed like a good, likeable guy. Seems so much more outgoing and fun now.
Another of the cards my sis-in-law gave me years ago that I finally looked through the other day. '95 UD Collector's Choice Special Edition Blue Trevor Hoffman. Always fun to see a pitcher with a bat or on bases. Bonus for a hall of famer! Also, obligatory @buntwaxera.bsky.social shoutout. #CardSky
Those are beauties! Love it!
Watching Braves-Rays game. Justyn-Henry Malloy just lost a ball in the sun in left (at same park). Max Clark got killed for that because he wore a few chains around his neck. But you won't hear anything about it happening to anyone else. I'm a biased TIgers' fan, but Clark's just fine. Let him be.
