Max has done some testing; he was able to add 536 static sprites before the arcade crashed & 532 moving sprites before crashing. About 100 moving sprites is okay at a playable frame rate. Past 100, the frame rate starts to drop, with it dropping considerably past 175 moving sprites. Hope this helps.
