"But they remained a people apart, and were ever after known to Elves and Men as the People of Haleth. Haleth remained their chief while her days lasted, but she did not wed, and the headship afterwards passed to Haldan son of Haldar her brother." ❤️🥹

"'Many things I can command the mirror to reveal', she answered, 'and to some I can show what they desire to see. But the mirror will also show things unbidden, and those are often more profitable than things which we wish to behold...'" (LOTR, Book II, Chapter VII)

Wow thank you so much! These are all very cool tips and I'll definitely take notes for any future archery drawing 🫶🏻 I have no experience with archery and had a hard time finding useful references for this pose in particular so these are very useful! 🥰

—FotR: The Shadow of the Past—
Gandalf: "And if he often uses the Ring to make himself invisible, he fades: he becomes in the end invisible permanently, and walks in the twilight under the eye of the Dark Power that rules the Rings. Yes, sooner or later—later, if he is strong or well-meaning to begin with, but neither strength nor good purpose will last—sooner or later the Dark Power will devour him."

—The Rings of Power: 2x06—
Adar: "...you seemed intent on finding Sauron. One might even say consumed by it, the way one always is once he has wormed his way inside your mind."
Galadriel: "You know nothing of my mind. You yielded to him. I resisted."
Adar: "For a while, perhaps. But sooner or later, he sees you. Not just who you are, but who you wish to be. His eye bores a hole, and the rest of him slithers in."

I finally started my post-season reading of the books, and I'm taking notes. I wanted to talk about a connection I haven't been able to stop thinking about.

Adar and Gandalf both describe Sauron consuming/devouring a victim ("sooner or later"), even if they resist for a time.
