“Never gonna happen, Nix,” Rus said, and had the audacity to wink at Nixie Vernan, the oldest living folk in Moondale.

Unfortunately, he was also more emotionally constipated than any other creature Rus had the displeasure of knowing.

It wasn’t cold like the winter wind that could cut through to the bone when it kicked up. Instead, it was like the cool side of the pillow on a warm summer night. The first popsicle under the midday sun in June. It was nice. Refreshing.

Not suitable enough, apparently, as Nixie was holding the regular pair of scissors that Sunila pulled from the drawer of Elwood & Co’s counter like they had personally
offended her entire lineage.

Lines from A Hex To Remember my editor really liked a thread:

It groaned under her movement, as if unused to accommodating such awkwardness.

Look. I’m not saying I’ve got a quiet romantasy slowly brewing on ye old back burner but I’m not not saying that either. 👀

So the biggest thing I tell people when they ask me for advice about writing is this: find your people.

Writing is solitary. It’s just me and the voices in my head. But being an author is about community, and I’ve found mine.

Why should you care?

NSF is an instituition that funds research.
They brought us Bill Nye the Science Guy, andThe Magic School Bus.

But also the internet as we know it, a system for grants, that picture of the black hole a few years back? They've had a hand in all of that and so much more.

It's the first day of Pride!

While I and my books are queer all year 'round, from now until the end of the month you can grab all of my books on Itchio for 15$.

This includes my novellas (apart from Black Cat which is perma-free on there), and all my series. itch.io/s/154160/lou...

I don’t know who needs to hear this but…

I don’t want ai to make art for me. I want it to put away the clothes in the laundry basket I’ve been digging through for the last two weeks.

I also want to give a big shoutout to the event organizers of this event. Gaithersburg Book Festival is always a delight to attend as an author. It's well organized, the volunteers are friendly, and even when it rains readers come out.

I want to thank everyone who came out for the @gburgbookfest yesterday, both new and returning readers alike. I had so many awesome conversations. These events are the hightlight of the year. Getting to talk to readers makes the days alone behind my keyboard worth it.

Not sure about the weather for this weekend, but I'll be at @gburgbookfest with all my books in tow!

Stop by and see me and @sjleewriter on Saturday for some awesome queer books, yummy snacks (last year they had a food truck that did fresh made donut holes), and lots of fun! #bookthreads
