Americans… please process and recognize that you’ve already lost your freedom of speech and so much more.

the link between misogyny and homophobia is CRAZY bc if these incels just realized and accepted that men are basically terrible instead of somehow superior they’d presumably realize all their self hatred is a result of knowing this and being sexually attracted to men anyways 🤣

Talk to the veterans in your life. I promise you that no matter where they fall on the political spectrum they know what’s happening.

We’ve been the part of a hostile invasive force and the playbook is the same. 😕

I’m not proud of this fact… but the modern police in the US interact with citizens in exactly the same ways we interacted with local nationals in Afghanistan while I was in the Army.

And we were up to NOTHING good.

You cannot serve or protect a group of people you treat like the enemy.

Or really… a hundred of the things this game just does so invisibly well…

Or how it stands out in the modern AAA landscape because it is software built (primarily) to make the most of specific console hardware or how its design leans into the unique platform architecture and leverages the SDK to implement features that culminate in a truly next-generation experience…

I could gush for days about the nuance and depth of Sam’s character controller and just wish I could take a peek at the source 😭

I finally beat the first game this month and after only 50 hours in Death Stranding 2 I feel I can confidently say — with my entire chest — it’s a technical marvel, a master class in game design, and one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. What an absolute masterpiece.

LETS GO! It started for me with learning how to care for one plant to prove that I could and slowly adding. I finally accepted that many will die but I’ll learn from it and now I have ~52 potted plants… 😬

I’ve redirecting my time, energy and attention to growing something real in the real world and I do not regret it one bit.

Pink/purple and white Dahlia flowers.

Dahlia half-barrel planter.

Turns out I didn’t know how to properly water plants until I was 36 years old but hey… I finally figured it out.

My Dahlias have been crushing it lately. 💪

I have decided that I want to be a stay at home husband, I’m tired of working 🤣

Anyways, I’m alive I’ve just been doubling and tripling down on my well-being lately. I’ve been in psychotherapy weekly since February and it’s really helping me, I’m just saying off the internet as much as I can.

Something that’s been really eating at me lately is that I’ll never know the person my Mom gave her life trying to protect. They died together and I know nothing but his name and that she cared for him deeply. I hope he’s with her wherever they are.

I’m so fucking tired of American politicians “bringing peace to the Middle East” via missile strikes

I’m not really an achievement/trophy hunter in games so for me, acquiring them is an outcome of me enjoying a game so much I try to experience every aspect of it. I’ve only ever done it 6 times on PlayStation but Expedition 33 is on that list!

So I’ll say out loud…

Players want games envisioned and led by people who… ACTUALLY FUCKING PLAY THEM. Those who care about games second and financial success first don’t fit that bill.

In an era when gamers are rallying against AAA publishers because of how they water down the things they love to avoid risk and maximize profit I think this part is important.

it’s special, because you can SEE and FEEL the shared connection to the games that inspired the devs behind it. Because there’s not some gigantic publisher or IP trying to abstract the individuals out of the thing they publish. It feels persona, inspired and REAL as a result.

I think for me it highlights what I believe is one of the most under recognized aspects of great games and art… the connection to a human on the other side of it. Sure, a 33 person dev team making a game of this quality IS impressive but that’s not what makes it special…

So I let it simmer before allowing myself to say so but Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is an actual masterpiece. I’ve beat it twice in a row, once on expert, and even after 130 hrs of play time I want to start it over again.

s&box

I’ve been doing some exploratory game dev in Source 2 using sbox.game and man does it get me excited about the idea of the next generation Valve first-party titles.

Your average politically disengaged millennial in their 35th year of life during unprecedented times…

“No way that would or could happen there’s no precedence for it.”

Oh brother…

wanna know why whole studios get sunk following dead ends? because they listen to guys like this, who react to things and think thats trending data instead of understanding the fundamental heart of both game dev and customers: games are chaotic miracles, and there IS no blueprint

Esquie is also incredible! I love his relationship with François 🤣

Monoco is the best character in Clair Obscur, it’s not even close.

Incredible game btw, finally beat it this weekend.

always my answer is the same:

do good for others.

that's it. that's the magic trick. when you wrest focus away from yourself and toward those in need, you become infused with a sense of *helpfulness*, you encounter clear-seeing and easily find genuine, provable value in your actions
