So yeah, I'd say if you're on the fence, just do it. All the negative hype so far just feels like clickbait nonsense compared to the reality of the game. It's not perfect, but it's fun, especially if you're a perpetual sidequester like I am.
4. Voice acting/story. Sometimes good, sometimes a little robotic. Written like an MMO, that's a tough script to make sound alive. Definitely a weak point, but not as impactful as the weak narrative. Story is fine, it's the narrative that's rough.
3. 'Game doesn't hold your hand'. Seems overblown. There have been plenty of tutorials and chances to practice skills. So far, puzzles haven't been too bad. I haven't needed a guide for the first few.
2. Jank. The graphics on PS5 are ok, but not astounding. Controls are a little clunky but the internet has massicely overhyped them being bad or complicated. Anyone who plays Assassin's Creed will feel at home. I found them pretty easy to learn. Ground items generate on-screen which is little weird.
1. Difficulty. So far, not too bad, but I'm only a few hours in and really only fought 2 easier bosses. Blocking is not a cure-all, but it made the fights easier enough. I imagine things will ramp up soon and bosses will use huge, unblockable AoE attacks.
Ok. #crimsondesert. So I took the plunge on a whim, because on further review, it seemed like real people were actually having fun with the game. I'm glad I did, because as of 4 hrs in, I'm having fun. I'll thread my notes here.
10 seconds later Nami asked about Sanji, but I'm leaving this post up.๐
Ep. 773 - Sanji is... probably still alive, somewhere, even though no one seems particularly worried about him
You love to see it
"Have as much Lasagna as you like"?
Was Cat Viper inspired by Garfield?
Crimson Desert. I was starting to get excited, but have been cautiously waiting for reviews because it seemed a little too good to be true. The comparison to BotW made me hopeful, but something just felt off. Now I'm seeing low scores, with reviews complaining about the crazy difficulty.

Played a pop-up rave in a liquor store the other night. That was rad.
Yoko Taro's gonna integrate Evangelion in the Drakengard universe isn't it?
Evangelion 5.0 - This can(not) continue
Ep. 755 - Luffy and his crew find a village of furry swingers
Mer-elf, pops

100% me this Saturday morning at Katsucon, after 3 hours of sleep.
Today's unsung hero: The guy who yelled, "One more song!" at the terrible band after their 2nd song.
Lowe's, why
Ok but can we not title episodes like this, ever?
*chef's kiss*
Excited to announce that I'll be DJing Friday night at Katsucon, alongside a weekend packed with amazing talent! Catch me warming things up with a set of anime remixes, vgm, and house music!
I hope the new Fable will be good. I also remember that every time a Fable game is released, they have massively oversold the amount of freedom and agency a player will have in the game, and how disappointing it was. I'll be eagerly (and nervously) waiting for the reviews.
I can just HEAR it in my head, in that mouth-full-of-cheese voice of his.
"Massive in the front, massive in the back!
Semi-automatic, blap-blap-blap!"
- Henry of Skalitz, apparently
