The four day work looks more and more likely. I’ve ran out of tokens!!! Go home 😂

Baumol’s cost disease =
Some jobs don’t get much more efficient over time, but wages still rise anyway.
AI bubble
“AI will make everything cheaper and faster”
But Baumol says
“Only the scalable parts get cheaper”
Aprils fool haha?
In a meeting someone asked if I knew Monte Carlo.
I confidently said, “Yeah, repeated random sampling.”
They stared at me and went, “No… the one with yachts.”
😬
It’s just slowly turning people to productivity addiction. Feel guilty for playing a game. I need to finish this book let’s get an LLM summary. I need to be productive.
AI/LLM gives 10× productivity. But look around what have we actually made better?
It almost feel’s like it doesn’t give us 10× outcomes. It gave us 10× motion.
A super productive week then 😎. It will probably be gardening for me on the weekend 😂
A really really crazy week. Burned out. Can’t wait for the weekend 😅.
How about you amigo?
Ai generated text tends to feel robotic and lack emotion.
Sorry that’s just how I write 🙃 it seems.
Gets a letter back did you try to bribe us? 😅
How can I turn the message into a selling opportunity… 🫠. The grift never dies
Short term pain…. Long term pain….
They wanted it. So I played around and made Rick and Morty agents. Mr meeseeks is the sub worker. The longer it can’t finish the task the more unhinged he gets 😂
Time is a flat circle.…
We can now move faster. But the problem isn’t moving slow. It’s now moving completely in the wrong direction.
People keep asking if I’m back…
I didn’t really have an answer.
But yeah.
I’m thinking I’m back.
It’s like being handed a fast car on a narrow B-road. The car can go incredibly fast, but the road hasn’t changed it’s still winding, narrow, and now getting congested.
The bottleneck isn’t how fast we can generate code anymore it’s how fast humans can safely review and integrate it.🥲
Rant over
Maybe I’m under a mandate :( . Every standup now it’s the review column is 40+ . I’m spending hours reviewing code and trying to see if it actually accomplishes what the ticket asks because there is a high chance it doesn’t.
It hasn’t made the job easier it’s just made it go faster.
For me it’s just created a bottleneck where it’s reading 40+ merge requests. Then checking the ticket to see if it’s actually succeeded or gone wild on a tangent.
With people using different approaches to AI it’s also hit and miss what’s actually good or not.
Had to build an agent network 🙃. Sub workers are named mr meeseeks. The longer it runs the more unhinged it gets
Extra, extra: In 6–12 months we will once again hear next year that AI could replace software engineers in 6–12 months
Family
What in the word art is this?
This reminds me when I had to work so much it suggested work as my home and my actual home as work 🫠
