Placeholder assets in a game should look obnoxiously temporary, so obvious that no one would mistake it for the final asset. In past games we've used the doge dog (rip) as an icon, hot pink versions of characters, our CEO's head, etc.

If you use a temp asset that seems passable, it may stay there.

Sort of nuts how AI advocates all have to admit that high schoolers using LLMs to write every essay is actively making them dumber, but then they turn to look straight into the camera afterwards and be like "good thing when I use AI in my field, the exact same thing doesn't happen"

When StS1 first launched back in 2017, it had 193 concurrent players.
