The text accompanying the picture goes: “Backstory to this is that Sister Sledgehammer was my version of a female "Space Marine" - Ste Tappin had drawn one in Rogue Trader and I liked the idea. I put her in two of my BW illos. In 1989 I was peeved that I'd been typecast at GW as a BW illustrator and I painted this to show Studio I could also handle colour work. Despite initial encouragement, when I finished her they said they only wanted "action shots" not "casual" scenes and declined it!! Original is Gouache and inks on board about A1 size. Here's one of her earlier appearances.....”

people are ‘painting’ minis with ai now… it’s depressing & they answer comments like it’s some kinda ‘skill’. they used to actually paint but now just churn this out for likes?

many people won’t realise & will just assume that the person painted it, cos why wouldn’t you?

I think I scared the student nurse who had to do my ekg today with how shameless I am. I knew I had to get an EKG so I stripped down without a thought because having done a ton myself I knew how annoying it can be to place leads around bras. He looked so embarrassed with how fast I stripped. Oops.
