Blood donors are doing altruistic, community-minded acts.

Logistics aside, I suspect finding a pool of unvaccinated donors would be difficult.

I mean, SecDef demonstrated that even in your “vetted” groups, you never really know who’s there 😂

As a fountain pen show attendee - yes, this is totally a thing. When possible, people avoid checking their pens… which means in some cases they’re going through security with 50+ pens. Apparently confuses the hell out of the TSA.

I live on a snow emergency route… there’s a reason the plowing is bad. Car owners are bringing this on themselves.

Pre-made frozen pie crust is where it’s at. When I try to make pie crust it picks up the taste of despair and loathing.

They were able to accomplish this because they decided that political capital isn’t something you hoard - it’s something you spend when you’ve got the chance.

Minnesota had a baller 2023 legislative year - reproductive rights protections (including abortion), trans rights protections, free school lunches - to name just a few, there were many more.

I finished not one, but two, long languishing sock WIPs last month. One had been in progress for… mumbledy… years, and now they’re done!

AP: A person with measles in West Texas dies-- more than 120 people have measles now. @HipHopPrez, Walter Kimbrough: There are more cases of measles than NCAA trans athletes, you'd never know from listening to lawmakers.

And I heartily agree with other folks - if possible get a pair that will fold down to fit into luggage. If flying, they have to be checked.

Based on the description, I’d advocate for poles. I have a pair and on the occasions I don’t have them, I usually wish I did. Price wise - in addition to weight there’s probably a material difference. This can affect their failure mode - bending (aluminum) versus breaking (carbon-composites).
