He played C for the majority. Has a lot of potential. Would like to see some more aggression on the puck, which he'll need if he's going to be a C in the show. Long road ahead for him but has the frame and skill which gives him a step up

Found that he stood around too often, waiting for a play to develop instead of using his obvious skill to make things happen. Will b interesting to see how he develops once he grows into his frame

I was able to watch Paupanekis all season in Kelowna (season ticket holder). He's incredibly smooth for someone in that large of a frame. Was impressed with his willingness to finish checks, use of his long reach to disrupt plays and what I'd consider above average passing.

My bad, didn't see the other comment

Thoughts on Arber as LW4?

3 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

Do you think Florian can handle C4 duties next year and who would you see as RW4?

That line could be both menacing and productive.

I'd like to see Arber get a shot at winger too, think it's the only longterm fit if he stays around

Yes, agreed, just curious who your pairings would be

Who are the realistic D pairings you think we can legit win with next season?

Assuming Reinbacher can be what he was drafted to be, I'd be comfortable running:

Matheson/Dobson
Hutson/Reinbacher
Guhle/X

Would love Parayko to finish that final pairing

Guy can't dream anymore? Why not pay him what he's owed and keep him around the team in a development role? I'd argue it's a suitable use of ownership's money for the last year of his contract and that his roster spot is that important to fill. Figure out future details when the time comes

In my dream, he was still getting paid his full salary... just wasn't playing, he was coaching/developing. Sounds like a win-win for everyone

Who would you pair him with for his first game?

If he ends up being the perfect compliment to Hutson...next season...who are your ideal two other pairings that will make us dominate on the blue line for years to come?

Has to be a player(s) who we have a reasonable chance to add

Had a dream he retires at the end of this season and announces he's taking a role in Player Development. Legend move.

Seth Abramson does some great reporting on this

Nope, just pointing out he was consistently getting walked but still played big minutes

#10 Reid was weak all tournament, constantly losing the man. Couldn't believe he got so muh ice time. Fortunately, Hage looks great.

Is Horvat + Dobson within the realm of reasonable possibility?

Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Caufield
Laine-Horvat-Demidov

Hutson-Reinbacher
Guhle-Dobson

Do you see Mailloux as a long-term fit on the 3rd pairing w Xhekaj? Or does he hold better value as part of a package to upgrade RD or C?

In 2-3 years:

Guhle-X
Hutson-Reinbacher
Xhekaj-Konyushkov

Would love a Nemec-type to work beside Guhle
