Guess this must be a Danganronpa ref? I haven't played or watched those games, but the rendering style made me think of it, hehe. I have seen Ace Attorney though x3! Nice work on all the details here =3.

The one thing I wish was that Jodie's Doctor's personality was leaned into more as a Tinkerer. She made her own Sonic Screwdriver and was creating all sorts of contraptions at first. I feel like they should've leaned in on that harder, and made that part of her main personality.

But it's not all bad or mediocre, I think Jodie's era still had some great episodes. I think the best one was the Village of the Angels, and not just because of the angels coming back, but also because of the mystery of what was going on. Especially with Claire, having met the Doctor before we saw

But soapbox issues aside, there's also the plot elements...Timeless Child and all that related plotpoints really did feel like a terrible addition to the lore, especially after everything the Doctor has been through up to that point.

Teen Titans, Justice League Unlimited, Batman Beyond and Static Shock are all good examples of tackling nuanced deep subjects in a way that doesn't feel preachy, but still gets the message across.

For Jodie's era, the cast was good, but the scripts were mediocre to me. Half of the episodes felt less like sci-fi/alien-time-travel related plots, and more like vehicles for being a soapbox. There are better ways to have messages in shows without being so hamfisted about it.

We finished watching all of NuWho after a couple of years, and even saw the Disney portion with Ncuti as well. I can honestly see why everything post Capaldi was met with lukewarm reception at best, and it all has to do with the writing I feel.

A jacuzi crash with toons is bound to have some shenanigans happen xD

Looks fantastic, love the pose and expression x3!

Thanks! Yeah they really do, and it's probably because they were. You gotta do it by hand for it to work, no upscaling algorithm is gonna get this look. Pixel art is about intentionally placed pixels. The Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 4 PSP remakes have hand-crafted higher res sprites too =)

Large cartoon squirrel wearing big blue sneakers while leaning on a billboard of himself. He is saying, "They're big shoes to fill... and they're still on the tight side. I'll give them another walk around to wear them in more." A brown cartoon rabbit is shown in an off-panel stuck inside one of the shoes being smothered by the paw.

Completely missed this, haha, but it's very cute! Love how he's cool with it at first, but then gets suspicious; it's almost like that delayed reaction cartoon trope XD!

With all the remakes starting with the WonderSwan Colour version, the characters get way more poses on the overworld now, and they're still only 1 or 2 frames of animation. It goes a long way to making them more expressive, and they can simply show now, instead of tell.

In the NES originals, you'll never see the character sprites do anything more than walking, so, the textboxes all have to directly tell you what's happened. Like in FF2 at the very beginning here, when Scott dies, it's rigid and explicit because it has to be. Timestamp: 32:39

Yeah I never thought animation solely had to be smooth to be considered good. I've always thought the most important things are making the characters and world feel alive and expressive, especially in games. Final Fantasy 1 and 2 and their remakes comes to mind as an example.

Flip flops are not for loitering on.

I can also say, seen as a software engineer myself, things can slip under the radar too, unfortunately. W3 can have good test coverage and do some manual testing before releases, but have missed some edge case scenario(s) and have to roll back. We do our best to minimize, but stuff happens.

If you do these things casually at a healthy pace, instead of long burning grind sessions, it doesn't feel so bad. I think this is part of why Crystal and HeartGold are still my favourite games as well, cause they were designed in a "stop and smell the roses" fashion, with the daily events ^^

Most important thing is pacing when going for these kinds of things. When I went for the Battle Frontier Symbols in HeartGold for example, just by the nature of having to maintain streaks just to even get a chance at one, I knew I was signing up for a long haul. Still miss the Battle Frontier~
