I think at the time he was interested, but during the chat once they coupled he realized he wasn’t feeling her. Plus, I think it could be a strategic move to continue the chase with Chelley before they actually decide to couple. Less chance of fighting/breaking up if they wait a few weeks

Yes! I love that. I think he gets hate just because he didn’t wanna touch/kiss on Amaya and he had firm boundaries with her (which I feel he had because he requires an emotional connection for outside of the “fun” challenges)
