Last I looked both Japan and Singapore make more money off our gas than we do. Say "Thank you, Mr Howard and Costello", and no government has seen fit to fix that. I'm betting push comes to shove Albo will slink away as well. #Auspol

Yes indeed... our aging cat has started demanding food and attention at ungodly hours of the morning. Typically with a fearful caterwauling.
Currently sending strongly worded emails about process requirement changes that are delaying payment of outstanding invoices. Another reason I hate body shops and prefer direct engagement with clients. #FreelanceLife
Working up my plan for #PoO2026 (the best week in May) to make sure I get my 'passport' stamped appropriately. Very keen to check out the offerings at Benchwarmer, to see if that puts anything on the radar for our trip to Japan later in the year.

Big ups to the @craftypint.com crew too. Fourteen years this fantastic festival, within a festival has been going. Always a highlight of late autumn. #PoO2026
Attending the launch of #PoO2026 and, unusually for a #CraftBeer event, it's not all the beard crew. Certainly have a plan which destinations to visit for #GoodBeerWwek though.
speaking as a lifelong global traveler: getting to the airport early has saved my ass from massive travel disruptions so many times that I now view it as a key travel survival skill.
Also, I love airport bars.
FFS! Why is MicroSlop's infernal software spontaneously shutting itself down for no obvious reason? While required to use it on a client's SOE machine, I'm glad I've abandoned using it on my own systems. #FreelanceLife
Guessing King Island...
A little disappointed that Master Chef hasn't picked up on my concept for a Battle Royale style knife skills challenge.
Odd too - as the Japanese meteorological agency is warning of tsunami up to 3m for Hokkaido, Iwate and Aomori.
The Deadly Hume, to the rescue...

I just noticed that MicroSlop offer rewards for using their accursed search engine. TBH, there is a greater reward to be had by avoiding it altogether.
@lougo.bsky.social Looks like you got out of Wellington before shit went bad.
I keep getting told goods move by diesel truck
Not China which is shifting to 100% electric trucking

@lougo.bsky.social While you're in Tamaki Makaurau, check out the awesome 360° view from the highest point in the city.

Looks good - and the Finns have a track record of producing good tech, too. On a related note, recent trials of electric long haul trucks here is showing remarkable results. Interesting that the electric trucks tend to maintain the same speed going up hills.

@thegoodbuck.eurosky.social A mate took one of these for a test ride recently and is very keen to buy. Thought it might interest you too.

A chef friend who lives nearby went gathering pine mushrooms in the state forest near Daylesford yesterday. As we do a regular garden produce trades, they gifted us some in exchange for Vietnamese mint and limes. We at the mushrooms with fresh gnocchi from a local pasta shop. A perfect autumn dish.
A miscommunication related error gifted Croydon a second goal, but coming in after a 4-2 home win feels pretty good. Also think I should treat myself to a new set of shin guards as the current pair are getting a bit skanky.
Woot! A 3-1 lead now and ten minutes of regulation time remaining.
A men's football match in progress, with players set up for a corner kick. One team is wearing dark blue, the other a mix of light blue, white and red.
Perfect afternoon for a run in the sun. Have done my 70 minutes of service in the back-line, and we're defending a 2-nil lead. Has been a pretty even match TBH and played in a good spirit (so no nastiness or dissent). #GrassrootsFootball
@lougo.bsky.social @astrovivi.bsky.social One for you guys, I think.
Also, Ken Watanabe's woven grass rain hat is pretty cool.
The details of the costuming in 許されざる者 is superb. Many of the garments have boro or sashiko stitching; and are threadbare and well worn. Exactly the type of garments rural folk would have had in a rugged frontier environment. Also interesting to see the hostility shown to the Ainu at the time.
Made a bang-up roast, brined chicken with dill pickles and roast potatoes. Reckon I can rightfully relax for an evening of Japanese cinema (許されざる者); where Hokkaido is looking bleak and forebidding. While enjoying a nice glass of Tasmanian trousseau.
Noted my reflection, passing by a mirror, and thinking I'm starting to resemble a lamington. I believe some beard maintenance is in order.
Gosh!
Electric RACING motorbikes!
Farmers are driving around in diesel tractors and the Nationals tell their electorates electric trucks won’t work and it’s easy and fun to tell Australians they’re happy to starve us - the rest of the world electrifies
VOTE TO BUILD YOUR VISION - NOT THEIRS
Dead right. Esposito had largely had a good match, and it looked like a classic late-game fatigue error (tired and a bit sloppy). Happy to see young backs like him being given the experience for long term development. It's an investment in the future. Unexpectedly poor night from Warshawsky though.
