New data shows 4 million children in the UK are living in poverty. These figures don’t yet reflect the impact of the new Child Poverty Strategy, but scrapping the two‑child limit will make a real difference. There’s still more to do, but long‑term action can ensure every child has the best start.

Today the Bill to end the two‑child limit begins its journey through Parliament. The policy is responsible for driving child poverty to record highs, harming children and young people’s health. We’ve joined 65 other organisations in asking all MPs to support this Bill - bit.ly/4tuzFfA
"We must focus on how we deliver a brighter future for our children and young people.
Young people are clear on their worries, concerns and their priorities. They want opportunities for the future, better access to physical and mental health support and communities where they belong."

Great to see Wes Streeting today at the King's Fund to set out the Government’s ambition for children’s health.
But the real highlight? Young people themselves. They asked the toughest questions, set the right priorities, and reminded everyone in the room what’s truly at stake.
Great to be attending @thekingsfund.bsky.social today for this important conference.

Delighted to be attending a session with The Children’s Commissioner and a wonderful panel of speakers and CYP ambassadors.
Alongside colleagues from across the House, I've written to the PM calling for the 2-child benefit cap to be abolished.
The evidence is now overwhelming - it entrenches poverty, punishes families for their circumstances & undermines the futures of thousands of children.
Children and young people account for 25% of the UK population, yet just 11% of NHS expenditure.
It's time the government #PutChildrenFirst with a renewed approach to children's health through an NHS which is:
➡️Child-first;
➡️Digitally enabled;
➡️Preventative and community care-focused.
Children have spoken – and they are clear about what must change.
The Children’s Commissioner’s School Census shows exactly what young people want. And it’s a wake-up call for the Government.

We have a one-in-a-million #FeelGoodFriday post for you this week... 🤩
Alder Hey has developed a life-saving new treatment for a rare condition called Vein of Galen Aneurysmal Malformation (VGAM), which affects just one in a million children.
Children and young people account for roughly a quarter of the UK population.
Yet, only 5% of the total health research funding is dedicated to their needs.
This must change if we are to address the growing health inequalities faced by children across the UK.
Obesity levels among children in reception in the most deprived areas of the UK are more than double those of children in the most affluent areas.
This cannot continue.
Every child must be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
