They can surely thrive in other parts of the world as long as their needs are met, but it is cool and strange that they are only native to a 75 mile radius.

The only thing I can think of is that they evolved in this very small micro environment. And due to them not producing seeds too well, they haven’t been moved to other spots via bird poo, stuck on animal fur, or wind
