I am so happy and proud to be a part of the coaching staff for my 5yo’s baseball club. They emphasize an Avery displaced approach to baseball even at a very young age but the kids also have so much fun. It’s perfect for my very serious about baseball son. Big shout out to Club All N!

Sorry to rant but I bet you this is also one of the things that sets new york apart from Chicago and Detroit and Atlanta. There are problems for sure. But if you’re 16 there you can hop on the train mostly and go to any number of spaces even if they aren’t super close to you.

The walkability problem isnt just a southern one. People always overrate Chicagos infrastructure because they stay on the white north side. The trains and streets and sidewalks are mostly shit south of 43th street. If you are 16 with no car on 83rd and Vincennes try to walk somewhere productive

Hard agree. Too may neighborhoods are also not walkable, so it’s hard for working class teens to get to these spaces even where they do exist. I live in what should be a very urban neighborhood a mile from a major downtown, and the walk to our nearest community center is very unsafe for pedestrians.
