That it just drops makes it feel kinda negative to me. But I feel like it's used too aggressively sometimes. Like a newbie might be inexperienced in writing, so calling it slop feels unnecessarily aggressive. However if someone isn't trying and one know that they can probably do better, it's slop.
If you wonder what to put in the novel field do I recommend Phenomena by Ruben Eliassen, an amazing fantasy series from 2002 which is ongoing but the original publisher refuses to publish more of, clings to the rights but doesn't reprint, despite being a bestseller, nothing for the 20th anniversary.
Isabell Martinsen. Is about the titular cat goddess and her cat colony trying to find their place in the world, it's really cute!
