9) Resident Evil 3 Remake - I get what they're going for here; a action heavy, cheesy horror movie vibe. But man, it just pales in comparison to the remakes of 2 and 4.

The original was my childhood Resi, too, so to see so much stuff not make the jump hurts. Still fun to be had, but... Eh.

Realising I now sometimes have to pause to think about whether to use 'their', 'there' or 'they're', and feel incredibly weakened as a result.

Likely will be closer to 4.8 hours

Love going to sleep with the dread of potential nuclear annihilation and then waking up to news of an apparent ceasefire, the day to day uncertainty is so fun hahaha

8) Yakuza Kiwami 3 - This isn't an outright bad game, but it is one that feels impossible to recommend. Controversies, previous Yakuza content endlessly re-used, and it's stuck with the story trappings of the original Yakuza 3.

Happy to have ticked it off the series list, but should've been more.

First time playing ARC Raiders in a good while and promptly died twice in quick succession, one of those being in the most catastrophically dumb manner possible. Good game.

7) Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 - I came into this not knowing anything about Warhammer and can safely say this hasn't converted me into being a fan.

Still, what I wanted was some basically mindless shooting fun, and that's what this gave me. Very fun pulping little guys with a sledgehammer.

Upon release I thought the criticism of Kiwami 3's lack of originality was a bit overdone, but the more I play the more I agree. Even its main two side activities are basically retreads of stuff the series has now done multiple times.

Not a terrible game, but equally a very hard one to love.

6) Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Hoo boy, I don't know where I stand with this game. At times brilliant, at others infuriating, at others just plain baffling.

At the core of it I just don't see how this is GOTY material that everyone seems to adore. Feels like a harsh 7 out of 10.

The Yakuza Kiwami 3 voice actor controversy is bad enough, but then Kiryu has to literally say in game he can't stand by when a man lays a finger on a woman. A moment so jarring I had to put the game down.
