I assume the Seattle Times and others who were wringing their hands about how doomed we were when Washington refused to give similar handouts will be lining up to offer public apologies any day now
I was an adult and purchasing books in 2010 and I don’t remember them being that cheap, but maybe post-2020 inflation has broken my brain for what things used to cost.
Is that a new hardcover for $6.99?!
Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train. "If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."
I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

I maintain that among the media's biggest mistakes has been continuing to ask Trump questions as if he's a normal guy instead of asking things like "Can you explain who Jesus is" or "Describe the process of pumping gas"
You simply will not get this level of analysis of our region anywhere else.
My basic theory is that because of their age, they’ve experienced the cost pressures of contemporary adulthood for the longest, *and* had that pressure exacerbated by sitting between the two largest generations in our history. Hard to compete! Plus they came of age under Reagan so were already RW.

For love of country, for the freedoms we cherish and for the values we hold dear, the House must immediately reconvene and vote to impeach Donald Trump.
