Sarah Kendzior’s suspension makes me glad I’ve never really used this app.

Who could have guessed that the fools now pontificating from the White House about biology and gender don’t have a clue about the science?

Elon Mussolini giving a Nazi salute.
If you liked Muskolini’s Nazi salute, you can fuck right off all the way to that fictitious secret Nazi base in Antarctica. But if you’d rather read about Nazis getting punched and humiliated, check out my satirical novel, Ship of Fools. larryhogue.substack.com/p/welcome-ab...
I did get one installer to admit that if I care more about emissions than cost, they could set that switchover point lower. But buying a new heat pump and a new furnace was out of our price range to begin with. Some manufacturers even bundle them together.
Every installer I talked to here in Michigan would install a get pump to work alongside a gas forced air furnace. Then they’d set the heat pump to turn off at about 30 degrees F and the gas furnace to take over. They said this had to do with gas and electricity prices in the state. 1/2
Happy solstice! To celebrate, a bunch of us are offering free ebooks, including my own Desert Trilogy, which I think of as weird or slipstream sci-fi. Others in the collection are horror, suspense, and more. Enjoy, and happy holidays!
It’s Cyber Monday and it’s also your last chance to get my post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel, Ada’s Children, for only $1. You’ll also find a bunch of other books in a variety of genres at the same low price.
Black Friday sale on my post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel, Ada’s Children, plus a bunch of other novels in a variety of genres, for only $1 each. Starts tomorrow!
Brave citizen-scientists will travel to Antarctica this December, aiming to banish any doubts about the shape of the Earth.
All good! I could use more real social interaction, it’s true. But what I meant was my tweets were like the proverbial tree falling in the forest with no one to hear — not even the squirrels!
This is already more interaction than I usually have on Twitter, so I like it.
Thanks for the shoutout Mark! And welcome to BlueSky.
This serial is great fun, and does a brilliant job of converting the full collection of conspiracy theory nonsense into fiction.
Tired of all the conspiracy theories undermining both truth and democracy? How about taking a break from them with my sci-fi satire on flat-earthers, anti-vaxxers, and also Nazis (several of whom get punched). I’m serializing Ship of Fools on Substack. #BookSky #sciencefiction
Charles Eisenstein and others’ response: ARPA! More totalitarian deep state surveillance. (And why aren’t we concerned about “electromagnetic pollution” as well?)
“You’re a robot, aren’t you?”
The young woman Carol had been talking to didn’t even blink, itself a giveaway.
“Why do you think that?” the bot said. Its voice was smooth and mellifluous, almost too perfect.
My thoughts on whether sci-fi predicts the future, creates the future, or comments on the present. Maybe all three! With references to @greatdismal.bsky.social and Kim Stanley Robinson. larryhogue.substack.com/p/should-we-...

Very little ice left on the shores of Lake Superior during this non-winter. 😢
So I guess we’re supposed to reintroduce ourselves? I’ll just repost this example of the type of “humor” you can expect from me. These days I’m just gutted that we won’t have a Vivek/Amalexia ticket in 2024. #MakeMorrowindGreatAgain Oh, and you can check out my sci-fi novel on Substack.
Quote snippet from the sci-fi novel, Ada's Children. "Another white liberal illusion up in smoke. I thought we'd stopped the fascists and white supremacists for good back in the twenties--or at least driven them into a part of the country hardly anyone cares about."
Worried about the upcoming presidential election? Or climate change? Or the impacts of artificial intelligence? Then you might relate to Carol in Chapter 2 of Ada's Children, set in 2040s Minneapolis. You can read it right now on Substack. tinyurl.com/adaschildren
Maybe adopt the North American abbreviation of Za?
So wear your mask. And test before socializing in groups.
Loved both those games on my phone.

If you like cool gametubers, especially ones who focus on story, give Welonz a follow. If enough of us do, maybe she’ll start posting here in addition to/instead of over on Xitter.

I’m rummaging around over on Substack, if anyone’s interested. May decide to publish my novel in serial form there. substack.com/profile/2493...
