This might just be me, but the Gentoo community actually felt friendlier compared to Arch. idk why either, maybe they have patience from all the compiling

It only really appeals to neckbeards that think webp support is causing their pc to be slow. I guess the security aspect (being able to compile software without features you don't need) is also gonna appeal to some people as well, but to me the compile times outweigh the performance/security gains

After a month of using Gentoo Linux, I have decided to hop to fedora. I liked Gentoo, but I also wanted to be productive + have a distro that I didn't have to spend days configuring to get it working the way I want. But, if you're unemployed + have nothing better to do, then maybe it'll work for you
