I think.

Such a great book.
Those eyes…
excruciating read but so, so vulnerable and human.
This looks wonderful! I’ll put it on my list for the coming week.
“Every American should be worried about the state of play right now for journalists worldwide if democracy matters to them. Ahmed is an American citizen, but importantly, he is a journalist who should not be detained for the act of being a journalist.” www.ms.now/opinion/kuwa...
If they're portraying Trump as Jesus, it's only one inevitable step from there to "the Lügenpresse are the Jews of the modern age."
Love it.
Great photo!
Love that song. Even the first time I heard it, it seemed to evoke memories.
Wonderful poem.
Choppy waters of Lake Champlain, with the Adirondack mountains in the distance and a lone island closer up. It’s a cloudy blustery day, and everything is a different shade of blue and grey.
In Vermont to give a Holocaust lecture this evening, but first: long walk down by Lake Champlain this morning. All part of our world, and this is the space I prefer.
"Justice dies when dehumanized, no matter how exactly it may be exercised. Justice dies when deified, for beyond all justice is God's compassion. The logic of justice may seem impersonal, yet the concern for justice is an act of love."
Abraham Joshua Heschel
Redbud tree still in bloom, but the leaves—bright red heart shaped—are just coming in. Other trees are in the background; glimpses of bright blue sky. What my granddaughter calls a “shiny day”!
I love how the early redbud leaves are red hearts.
Wow!
A white dogwood tree in the foreground; a redbud up the hill behind it. Blue sky peaking through and other trees turning green.
It’s rare for the dogwoods and redbuds to be in bloom at the same time, but they are this year.
Beautiful! The same is true here—a March heat wave that brought many things into bloom overnight, followed by chilly days that are prolonging the blooms.
I hadn’t thought of it that way, but yeah…
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
That was beautiful.
Incredible to watch the earth come into view.
Graffiti, power tools, hammers…maybe there’s an emerging Christo out there who can wrap it! That would be cool..
I say thousands of us show up as soon as he’s out and tear it down. It will do us all good (we’re going to need at least a year of such cathartic projects but I’m there for it)
Relatedly: It's worth noting that the emerging war theology (and, arguably, theologies) coming from the Trump administration have spurred a growing list of rebukes from an array of faith leaders that range from local clergy to the pope himself.

Early spring: Greening trees and sprouting bushes casting shadows on the newly green forest ground, covered with moss. Blue sky visible between the branches.
Afternoon walk, green shadows.
Just feeling an enormous amount of anger and disgust right now.
He was your enemy, ever spake against
Your liberties and the charters that you bear
I’ th’ body of the weal; and now, arriving
A place of potency and sway o’ th’ state,
If he should still malignantly remain
Fast foe to th’ plebeii, your voices might
Be curses to yourselves
Hmmm.
I can't do much about anything but I could do this.
Get some (specifically requested) books into the hands of incarcerated folks at Rikers & support an indie bookstore at the same time.
(+ I ordered @chanda.blacksky.app's The Edge of Space-Time for me bc why not have faith that tomorrow will come)
