Thanks for sharing this! I once did a voice-over for a corporate gig. The client ran out of batteries for the mic. Instead of running to the convenience store next door for batteries, she thought she could use foil to turn a AAA battery into a AA battery. Didn't work. I had to re-record weeks later.
This was a fun Retronauts episode to be a part of. I discussed how some of the biggest gaming companies got their start via music, in particular, jukeboxes. Give it a listen!
Famed fighting game stick company Hori was advertising like this in U.S. magazines back in 1995. (Did they pick a small kid so the joysticks looked huuuuuge?)
Coincides with some inexperienced game publishers exiting the game industry in the U.S. due to the overcrowded market, the expense/risk of publishing games, or the losses some publishers took overestimating demand and manufacturing too many copies for retail.
This caught my eye in the TOSE history section. It would be interesting for TOSE to discuss some of the historic trends it has experienced both overseas and domestically in Japan.

I think TOSE has opened up a little more since they've expanded into business software and other non-gaming areas.
A new 10-floor CAPCOM development building in Osaka is now under construction next to CAPCOM headquarters. Construction is slated to be completed in March 2027. That Domino's Pizza next door will get a lot more business and maybe we'll get a new Yo! Noid game.
KONAMI Digital Entertainment opened its new Tokyo R&D base close to Tokyo Big Sight last October. Konami Creative Front Tokyo Bay will serve as a main office with an e-sports studio (which hosted a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament and Kanae Asaba concert). This new 8-floor facility can house a staff of 2,000.
TOSE recently updated a list of titles it worked on:

TOSE has demolished its Nagaokakyo Development Center (est. 2009) which once housed 85 staff on several floors and an adjacent building it owned in Kyoto to make way for a new six-floor office complex that will open January of 2028.

Spotted this in my local supermarket, flipped through it quick and looks like a pretty in-depth issue with Nintendo history.
The latest @designroom.site expose: Final Fight Revenge. @mattleone.bsky.social's email blast had me hooked from the get go. Subscribers-only, but the opening salvo is free. Give this guy a subscription, won't you?
Haven't heard much more about this since July. I wonder if PlayStation is still planning to release this?
You directed a movie?! <Check IMDB> Had no idea about your filmmaking background. Mind blown.🤯
A look at the game selection screen of Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol.1 at PAX East courtesy of Gravity Co., Ltd. Had a good playthrough of 64th Street: A Detective Story. I noticed previously unannounced titles including Best Bout Boxing, Chameleon, Cisco Heat, Pinbo and Valtric. Release Date: TBA.
Here is some video I took of gameplay from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction from PAX East 2026. Coming April 28th, 2026 (Masters of the Universe Day) from developer Bitmap Bureau and @limitedrungames.com

The TurboTax commercial with the animated karaoke singers trying to emulate K-pop Demon Hunters needs to go.
If you've been meaning to pick up my Virtual Boy and/or Super NES books, NOW would be the time. They're down to a few dozen copies, and demand has slowed enough that we can't really justify a reprint. Snag one of the last few at a very tidy discount while you can: limitedrungames.com/collections/...

This Killer Klowns From Outer Space teaser trailer for the sequel is insane.
Ghost Eater, an impressive-looking anime/manga inspired hack-n-slash title from developer Green Bullet. Created by Brooklyn-based Alex Epton, a former music composer and producer, now a VFX artist and game developer.

A riveting gritty 13-second 1977 drama edited by an actual coked-up monkey.
It's my hope that @pixnlove.bsky.social would consider putting Yoshihisa Kishimoto's biography from 2012 back into print and considering publishing an English-edition with the DVD video interview. This would be a great way to honor his memory. Link to book: www.editionspixnlove.com/editions-lim...
We are sorry to hear of the passing of Yoshihisa Kishimoto, creator of the legendary Double Dragon and Kunio-kun (River City) series. WayForward was greatly inspired by his works, and it was an honor to explore the universe he created.
I NEVER understood the "Yukawa Senmu"/"Mr. Sega" ads in Japan. Why parody yourself?
Also this: Keep the TV commercials cheap and magazine ads cheap. Use the money you save to include a built-in broadband adapter with the Dreamcast (then again I probably don't know what I'm talking about).

The Road Avenger car in the intro to Double Dragon
RIP Yoshihisa Kishimoto, not only did he create some of the most influential beat em ups of all time, but he also designed/directed Road Avenger(Road Blaster) and Cobra Command aka Thunder Storm (1984), two of the best FMV games ever.
