I often find that when I find myself at a story 'block' or I'm not quite able to progress forward authentically, the answer is already contained within the text, I just have to find it. Sometimes rereading the entire manuscript or key passages will help you discover the solution and move forward.

When I wrote DADDY'S BOY I went all-out with the comedy and have since found myself going into 'Daddy's Boy mode' at some point in every subsequent novel. My job in redrafting and editing is to decide when the comedy works and when it goes too far. Though sometimes it both goes too far and works.
