Yet again I remind everyone (as Elizabeth does in her very next tweet) that "foreigners are corrupting our pure blood with weakness & disease" is Fascism 101. Not some variant, not some metaphorically similar thing, not some echo -- the thing itself.

Why is the House not holding Bondi in contempt? Why is Oversight not holding Epstein hearings? Why is Oversight not doing more in this case?
Good Question! (1/3)
Russia continuing it's anti-LGBT+ agenda today by raiding the largest book publisher in the country and arresting the director. I'm sure folks in this administration are drooling about such powers. Fight book bans and support libraries and indie bookstores. #freadom

»Als Adam grub und Eva spann, wo war denn da der Edelmann?« "When Adam delved and Eve span, where then was the nobleman?" Rich elites, impossible living conditions for everyone else - it's happened before, & led to the largest uprising in German history.

Kevin Warsh is refusing to disclose more than $100 million of his assets. Totally unprecedented.
Warsh needs to release this information now. What is he hiding?

Acclaimed novelist @katiekitamura.bsky.social calls Anna Maria Ortese's NEAPOLITAN CHRONICLES her favorite book by "an underrated author." Speaking @thetimes.com about the book which inspired Elena Ferrante, Kitamura says: "Ortese is a giant of Italian letters."

DOJ demanded voter files from all 50 states.
DOJ sued 31 states for refusing their demand.
My law firm intervened to protect voters in those cases.
DOJ is now 0-5.
My firm is 5-0.

Not everyone falls out of windows. Looking for some intrigue this weekend? A new history of the assassination of Trotsky in Mexico City is on the shelves. #historymatters #spiesindisguise #indiebookstore

How do you build a totalitarian society? Everyone is looking at the history of Nazi Germany. Let's not forget the other main dictatorship of the last century: the Soviet Union. In this collection of documents, we see how Lenin began state repression. bergstrompressbooks.com/en/history/5...

In theory, there is no end to the literature they could "read" and yet, somehow, not understand.
Reminder
Could not have said it better myself
The Constitution has many mechanisms to constrain Trump; to name a few:
1) Impeachment
2) Power of the purse to Congress
3) Emoluments Clause
4) Federalism

Roh, ruhig, fast schon filmisch.

Wonderful book
Support your local indie bookstore, not the billionaire.
This was once a bustling mall in Kharkiv, now a ruin bombed by Russia. Today, only dust and ghosts dwell here.
Elections in Hungary. Upcoming mid-term elections in this country. Elections have gone from routine, boring elements of democracy to being judgements on the very existence of democracy. And in Germany? bergstrompressbooks.com/de/politics/...
If you were reading a history of the Gilded Age and encountered a tycoon who kept pushing insane conspiracy theories about declining white birth rates and who used his vast influence to kill off nearly a million people in Africa, you'd very easily conclude that person was a white supremacist.
It's a beautiful spring Saturday, perfect day for browsing the bookstores of Kensington, but of course, we might be a little biased 😃!
