Yesterday I saw Remus sitting on the sidewalk blocking a guy who was walking two pitbulls. I watched in my car’s rear view mirror as the man considered Remus, then crossed the street with his dogs to keep going without any smoke

Trying not to just jump into angry quote reposting as I tend to do but it’s hard when the first few posts I’ve seen on here include people praising the rules based order and more than one three arrows avatar. Do people not know what those arrows mean or what

Watching spaced while I exercise after a profoundly fatiguing day. Haven’t seen it in like four or five years and I’m suddenly recognizing the comics Simon Pegg’s character is reading

Brother only ever texts me when he needs me to take care of his cats which I’m happy to do because I love cats but man this is just cold. I’m trying to buy him a present! It used to be easier but he hasn’t logged into Steam in like 2 years and only seems to talk about volunteering for dems (blech)

My dad is learning the piano and apparently doesn’t want to install uBlock but does want to use youtube tutorials. I saw someone mention + link a website that just uses the API or whatever to stream (albeit more slowly) videos in an adless format, anyone know what I’m thinking of

I’ve been thinking of bluesky as a nicer place to be more authentic and personable but in the context of the ongoing genocide being committed in collaboration with everyone around me and myself personally it’s hard to feel much joy or excitement regarding other things

This is from Tharg’s Terror Tales which has some shockingly gory, brutal content for 2000 AD, so I think it’s almost all recent, from the era after Rebellion’s realization the entire readership is 30+ and children don’t get monthly comics anymore

best part is he says that in every issue using that exact phrase in case anyone might get the wrong idea and think he’s hurting people. Lion comics are like that - nobody can die or be seriously wounded - so you get like 500 pages of Karl the Viking with everyone bonking w the flat of their blades

Roy came by a couple hours after breakfast just to say hi. I think he’s warming up to us; with a little luck I’ll be able to pat him on the head in like six months

Finding the couple of structures on land in the first game was a huge moment. Useful things to scan, important seeds and relevant items, it feels like a huge risky moment of discovery being out of the water which is a big accomplishment in tone. In SZ you just walk or drive to them and they’re there

Yeah that’s a great point I didn’t even last long enough to discern whether it has a story similar to the first, but without the initial first big goal of retrieving things from the crashed ship followed by a well-paced descent in search of alien structures, there’s no incentive to bother

That game convinced me Subnautica was a fluke and they didn’t actually understand what made it so good. Scaling down, removing the cyclops, making it 30% land exploration, shallower map, etc are all just baffling decisions. I beat subnautica like four times and got bored with SZ in ten hours
