Now that I’ve finished my first book in my streams, I’ll have to think about what the second one will be, which means I’ll have to consider available, set up, language, popularity, format and the fact that I might be wrong about any of those factors.

While this issue doesn’t do that, It does do a somewhat good job of recapping previous stories in a way that dovetails nicely with the more horror style that this book is going for, which intrigues me.

I also enjoyed ABGL, TF, AC, UXM, IM, BC, S:LH, SW:SOM, P:N and TE2099.

make last issue"s cover was a total lie.

The Fury of Firestorm #1:
I have to admit that this was my most anticipated book from this week because right when it was announced I had been looking up firestorm and realized how convoluted his story had gotten, so I wanted a new book to untangle it.

The week's now over so it's time to talk about the most memorable comics I read during it.

Supergirl #12:
This continues the well thought out dramatic detour that the book has been on since the last issue into some very unexpected places.
Also it annoys me slightly that one of reveals in this issue

I did some of the short stuff that I had been thinking about and wow that stuff really ebbs and flows in unpredictable ways.

Those reading livestreams I’ve been doing have really made me really revalue my opinions on certain books, because when I’m narrating them I have to absorb every inch of the book which makes me realize which books survive that level of scrutiny and which don’t.

It’s hilarious that it took me until I was an adult to discover what a hyper fixation was because it meant that I spent my childhood thinking everyone got obsessed with something for a couple of months and never talked about it.
I hope in the future I’m also smart about what happens now.

As I’ve started to communicate more with other people I have discovered that there’s no frustration like someone not responding to you after multiple days and multiple messages with pretty impertinent questions.

I’m going to post an edit of one of the livestreams tomorrow which hopefully leads to more people finding it since I might fully switch to streaming on youtube.

Absolute Superman #18:
This starts the arc in a way that goes in some unexpected direction that allows book to continue to be quite unpredictable.

I also enjoyed Batman, B/S:WF, DD, X-men, B:YN, L:BWB, WM, DD, AFD, CM, DP, A:KK and E50th. I hope it’s easy to decipher this titles.

Mad About DC #1:
This hilarious anthology allows for a lot of very talented creators to spoof the world of comics, some of which connects with what they are involve with, which in enhances the comic by giving it a somewhat official status. I also want to share that my favorite jokes were this ones:

JSA #18:
This issue ends this wonderful prequel story with a very fitting conclusion that wonderfully references a lot of in-story and real world history.
I would recommend it to anyone interested in the JSA.

I also looked at the game sequel and prequel comics. Both offered way more interesting adaptations of the GL lore than the movie, with the sinestro book in particular being a very interesting prequel story and the choice of villains in the game way way better thought out than the movie ones.

adaptation decisions in general, like fusing parallax with krona, or having sinestro create the yellow ring instead of the weaponers. Speaking of dumb decisions, the effects used to put reynolds in the suit look terrible and it’s ironic how decades of beautiful comic art unintentionally lead to it.

people making the adaptation think the popular material is overly complicated to be directly adapted, so they rewrite the story to introduce all the important players from that popular story, which in theory would be adapted in a sequel but 95% of the time it never happens. It also makes very dumb

I mentioned before I recently saw the live action green lantern movie and shocker, it was not very good.
It somehow had all the weak points from the 2000s era of GL with none of the strengths.

It’s also a good example of something that happens with bad adaptations of nerds properties, where the

The funniest thing about life is how the first time you do something it’s always terrible but then you do it again and it’s slightly less terrible and eventually years later you realize that your halfway good at doing it.

A funny rule I have when I’m watching a show for the first time is that if I already seen an episode before I just skip through it and move on to the next episode because I normally watch shows in blocks and that reduces their size.

New Avengers #10:
This series finishes on a pretty good note that ties up the threads that it’s been developing since the beginning a gives a good resolution to the central WS/Nat pairing.

I also enjoyed AMM, JLU, UXM, Flash, FF, IM, VR, W:WOA, DOD, P:N, W:WR, TFF:FF, P:B and Capes.

DC / Marvel: Superman /Spider-Man #1:
Speaking of Superman, this week the big crossover involving him and Superman was pretty great, with a very fun main story, that wonderfully celebrates the history of this characters and some cool backups that match various supporting characters with each other.
