Musk incites violence and insurrection in the UK and there is no push back from the government??
We’re not just sliding, we seem to be welcoming Fascism with open arms and red carpets.

How is Musk able to ‘lose’ HALF A TRILLION dollars and he and Trump are still in their respective posts?

In just two months, DOGE has —lost— the government an estimated half a trillion dollars. I propose that Musk pay it back personally.

Lessons From a Near Death Experience – a Year On Apologies for a more personal piece – we’ll be back to the politics and international relations soon (and there is a bit of policy in this one at the end I promise).

As it's the fourth anniversary of me nearly dying and my life completely changing - here's the post I wrote on the first anniversary. Always feels like I should mark it somehow. (Free to read).

There is an alternative to Government welfare cuts - a 2% tax on wealth. There is no shortage of money here, we just need a fairer approach to tax - take more from the few not the many.

a greeting card with a flower and the words good morning ALT: a greeting card with a flower and the words good morning

Calendular, spread the seeds liberally.. easy to grow, bees love the flowers, and you can make a tincture that heals wounds better than any shop brought antiseptic 🌻

YouGov find just 30% of people think we were right to leave the EU. The lowest number yet.

Just 10% of 18-24 year olds think it was the right decision.

I’m sure the Sunday papers will be doing massive write throughs on the amazing story of how a Royal and a minister forced Murdoch empire to admit widespread Sun criminal activity. I mean look how the dailies covered it next day!! All in this together! So they bury it. Mail still in firing line 2026

Looks like Labour's next big opportunity to disappoint is already limbering up.

It's hard to see them letting a trade deal with the US slip over a piffling hiccup like leaving the NHS to be pilfered by US companies.

Once it's gone, it's gone for good.

The best explanation is perhaps not that the prince and Watson had finally buckled to costs risk; it instead looks like a desperate last-minute move by a publisher anxious to avoid a public trial of the claims.

It appears from the evidence available that NGN signalled that it would actually accept liability. If so, this would change everything. If NGN accepted it was liable for at least the main part of the claims, there would be no need for a full trial—for there would be nothing to be tried. The prince and the politician would not now be able to force a full trial even if they had wanted to do.

For a defendant to admit liability is an unusual, if not unique litigation ploy.

How Harry and Watson forced News Group Newspapers to admit wrongdoing

Why the circumstances show it was NGN wanting to avoid a public trial—and not the costs risk on the claimants—that brought this case to its end

With Tesco and Lidl among the retailers wading in to the farmer IHT row, as @dalevince.com points out is this really a PR stunt to cover up their less than favourable tactics towards British farmers... like farmwashing?

Potential merits of a Youth Mobility Scheme between the EU and the UK There will be a Westminster Hall debate on the potential merits of a Youth Mobility Scheme between the EU and the UK on 29 January 2025, led by Sarah Olney MP.

It's official.

Upsides: Numerous.
Downsides: None.

Political decisions really don't come easier than this. All that is needed is a little bit of the dynamism that *should* accompany a majority of over 150 MPs. ~AA #YMS #YouthMobility

The UK government has banned the emergency use of neonicitinoid pesticides.

There has been much bollocks in the press that the government MIGHT NOT do this.

Well, they have.

It is the correct action and should be celebrated.

Governance is actions, not pantomime.
