My pieces finally shipped! Hopefully I'll have some nice pictures to share next week

No shipping yet... the dramatic pause continues...
Thank you! It's nice to take a break from rules work and make things with my hands
These are handmade game boards for a new batch of (my strategy board game) LAVA WURM! I'm getting a head-start on production while I wait for more parts to get in
Cloth game boards, partway through being finished
Measure measure cut cut measure cut ink sew sew sew sew

Autocorrect direly desires to change my sentence to "players throw Thor". Decidedly unhelpful, but bullying the Odinson *does* sound fun..
Hear hear! A strong list. Especially "prep in advance"; how can anyone submit if they don't know how the submission works? Madness
Journey log:
1. Parts from last run discontinued. ๐
2. New parts hard to find. ๐
3. Parts found! ๐คฉ
4. Parts bought. ๐ฐ
5. Parts don't actually exist? ๐
6. Parts back in stock next week, order preserved. ๐
Now: waiting to confirm their safe arrival.
Handmake your games, it's an adventure
I surely will! Might take a couple weeks, but the haul should be glorious
Finally sourced parts for a new batch of LAVA WURM. A Harrowing journey, but I'm excited to begin assembly when the goods arrive
Thank you, that's very considerate. Back to feverishly painting...
I'm still making game copies, don't hype it too fast!
NICE, congrats!!
Ink! Effective on such small meeples, do not recommend for anything larger. The worms are paint
Low-Angled photo of game components arranged haphazardly. White mini meeples with black patterning sit in front, along with red hexagonal blocks painted to look like giant toothy worms. In the back is a cloth game board, marked with dots and connecting lines
Handmade meeples, cloth boards, and WURMS! The next batch of LAVA WURM is underway. I'll be taking these to a local game fest in May to find new homes.
I've been sick, but I'm finally on the mend! Once I can take a full breath without sneezing I'll be prepping for some local cons I'm excited to attend (fortunately in a few weeks so I don't spread plague!)
I don't have a picture this week, but prototyping in screentop.gg has been going great. It's a great tool for anyone wanting online playtests; relatively short learning curve, lots of simple and effective features, and it's ~ free ~ for most use cases!
Look what you have wrought! (This post has me playing War of the Chosen)
Teach Concentrically: When you teach a game, you want to introduce the core tenets of the play experience, and then build upon that knowledge concentrically, so that every new piece of information feels easy to integrate but continues to expand upon a sense of complex interdependence that cannot be โcollapsedโ or โresolvedโ except perhaps through play.
Wrote this as part of a game design consultation follow-up report, and I'm feeling really happy with how these words fit together.
Good luck finding a good match! Tak is, after all, A Beautiful Game
I regret to inform7 you ma'am but your son is dead. Your son is found in the Grey Hallway. The description of your son is "a poor soul who died in these hallowed halls." The son is wearing a backpack. The backpack is openable and closed.
These are for Warhammer Underworlds! It's a squad-level game, so these three minis alone make up a full team.
The three members of Ironsoul's Condemnors, primed black. Tavian is partially painted, showing the beginning of a yellow and maroon color scheme
I'm making progress on some game projects, but nothing photographable. So instead, behold my hobby project! It's finally time to get back into the swing of painting my minis. They've been raw plastic for far too long
How to fix soccer:
1. The field is too big, shrink it.
2. Too many players on the field. Limit it to two.
3. Paint the field in a black-and-white grid.
4. The ball is replaced by pure positional advantage.
5. Pawns everywhere.
