My hot take on the campaign Twitter discourse is that these social media apps have always been bubbles and now Twitter is 5 people who have never run campaigns arguing with each other over the dumbest shit possible while voters are like - hey could you focus on the potential developing nuclear war?

You know - jobs that require actual humans to do them. Every single room I walk into these days with anyone focused on the future of our economy, the first question that comes up is about what we are going to do when AI comes for middle class jobs. And that conversation inevitably turns to talk of what jobs we will want to grow in a post-AI world.

We often talk about politicians who are “in their own bubbles” in politics. Trump’s bubble is worse than any I have ever seen- and as his policies get more unpopular the bubble tightens and makes the unpopularity worse. This should terrify every elected Republican.

Something I’ve been thinking a lot about since Illinois’s primary elections - some (not all) people who cover politics for a living are going to need to start separating what they want Democratic primary voters to care about from what Democratic primary voters actually care about.
